The history of mankind has witnessed cold-blooded crimes which turned the world upside down and drove it down to the world of insanity. Many of these crimes inspired Hollywood to recreate their stories in movies. While one watches these movies, one can barely think someone would commit such atrocities. Whether it is a brain-sickness or something else the people committing these crimes do not hesitate to keep doing these crimes. Here is a list of some of the serial killers that changed history forever.

Carl Eugene Watts-

Carl Eugene Watts was also known as Coral. Watts started his serial killer career when he was twenty in 1974. Watts was suspected of killing more than 80 people but Watts was only convicted of killing 12 of those people. Watts was arrested on May 22, of 1982 in Houston. Watts was then sentenced to life imprisonment. On September 21, 2007 Watts died of prostate cancer after serving life in prison.

Andrei Chikatilo-

Andrei Chikatilo is a Russian serial killer. He was also known as the Butcher of Rostov and/or the Rostov Ripper. Chikatilo was convicted of three different charges. He was convicted 1) Murder 2) Mutilation and 3) Sexual assault. It is believed that Chikatilo's victim toll consists of a minimum of 52 women and children. On December 22, 1978 Chikatilo committed his first crime when he murder a 9-year old girl. The name of the girl that was killed was Yelena Zakotnova.

Jack the Ripper-

Jack the Ripper is often used as a nickname for a man that is unidentified for a serial killer in London. It was said that he was actively operating around the Whitechapel District. Jack the Ripper only targeted the women prostitutes from the East End of London. The number of the victims are still largely unknown. From April, 3 1888 to February, 13 1891 eleven separate murder cases were recorded near Whitechapel. It was believed that Jack Ripper was the cause for five of the eleven murders. Those five murders were known as the “canonical five.”

Zodiac Killer-

The Zodiac Killer is a nickname of an unknown person hailing from North California. There are many riddles to solve and the case is still unsolved. His victims were murdered from December 1968 to October 1969. His victims were four men and three women. The Zodiac Killer sent a series of letters to press. These letters included four cryptograms which only one has been solved. The Zodiac Killer case file is still open. The Zodiac Killer is one if not the most vicious serial killers in history.

Edward Theodore Gein-

Edward Theodore Gein was born August 27, 1906 and died July 26, 1984. Gein had many nicknames (Butcher of Plainfield, Plainfield Ghoul, or Leatherface) and those are just a few. Gein was an American he was convicted of murder and body snatcher. Gein was born and raised in Plainfield, Wisconsin he also committed his crimes all around Plainfield. Gein would dig up dead corpses from graveyards and he would keep the bones and skins from the dead ones. Gein confessed to killing two women; Mary Hogan a tavern owner in 1954 and hardware store owner Bernice Worden in 1957. Edward Theodore Gein died on July 26, 1984 because of respiratory issues.

Jeffery Dahmer-

Jeffery Lionel Dahmer was a very sick a demented man. He was born on May 21, 1960 and died on November 28, 1994. Jeffery Dahmer was a American serial killer and sex offender. Dahmer committed murder and dismemberment of 17 men and boys. Dahmer was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, schizotypal personality disorder, and a psychotic disorder. Dahmer was legally found insane at his trial. He was convicted of 15 of the 16 murders he had committed in Wisconsin.
