Bobbi Parker, wife of a prison warden in Oklahoma, was kidnapped by violent murderer, Randolph Dial, and held captivate for almost 11 years. Randolph was a master manipulator and used violent threats, drugs, and brainwashing to keep Bobbi under his thumb while he forced her to pose as his wife on a chicken farm in Texas.

In April 2005, police finally tracked Randolph down, stormed the farm, and took him into custody before they returned Bobbi to her husband. The story was far from over, however, three years later, Bobbie herself would be prosecuted, for assisting Randolph with his escape so the two could be lovers.

Some say that Bobbi was a hostage and others say that she was an accomplice. That leaves the mystery of the truth.

Bobbi Meets Randolph

Bobbi lived next door to the Oklahoma State Reformatory in Granite with her husband, Randy Parker, who was deputy warden, and their two daughters, ages 8 and 10. Among the inmates of the medium-security facility that was next door, was Randolph Dial.

Randolph was an artist and sculptor that received a life sentence for the murder of a karate instructor that took place in 1981. He ended up drunkenly confessing to this murder in 1986, he claimed that it was a contract killing for the mob. He also was a fantasist who wrote letters to his friends regaling them with tales of his exploits in Vietnam, or his work for the CIA, Secret Service, and FBI.

At the reformatory, Randolph, was granted special privileges, this meant that he could stay in minimum-security housing outside of the prison walls. He had convinced officials to let him start an arts program to help raise money for inmate rehabilitation.

Soon, he was granted access to a kiln in the Parkers' garage, which was converted into a ceramic studio for his inmate pottery program. Randolph became a daily fixture in the Parker home, Bobbi volunterred and spent a lot of alone time with Randolph in the studio.

Parker's Disappearance and His Rediscovery

It was the morning of August 30th, 1994, Randy Parker left for work and saw Randolph working in the garage. When Randy came home that afternoon, Bobbi wasn't there, but she left a note stating that she had went shopping, so nothing seemed suspicious.

It wasn't until that evening that worry started to settle in, Randy hadn't laid eyes on Randolph since that morning, and he asked an officer to check the cell and when it was discovered that he wasn't there, Randy feared that Randolph escaped and abducted his wife in the process.

Bobbi called her mother that night to pass on a message to her daughters, "Tell the kids I'll see them soon," Bobbi called twice over the next few days, but none of the calls were made to her husband. Bobbi's minivan was found in Wichita falls, Texas and it was empty, apart from Randolph's brand of cigarettes, and from this point, it would be ten more years until Bobbi Parker was seen again.

On April 4th, 2005, police got a tip from America's Most Wanted, this sent them to Campti, Texas, this is where a local had come across a familiar face from the TV show. Police forced entry into a mobile home on a rural chicken farm, in the Piney Woods near the border of Louisiana. This is where they discovered Bobbi and Randolph living under the names Richard and Samantha Deahl. Randolph was arrested peacefully, but there was a loaded pistol on a table and a shotgun near the front door.

He told reporters that were assembled outside the jail that he kidnapped Bobbi at knifepoint during his escape, then he brainwashed her into staying with him and they moved from Texas city and towns, finally settling on a chicken farm in 2000.

Randolph said that he went to work on Bobbi, he threatened her family, but he would never follow through with the threats. Randolph's former wife would dispute that, and when she told investigators that he made her unable to think for herself and he tricked her into helping him commit the murder in 1981. Then, four months after this, she was shot and killed herself in an unsolved murder.

What Happened Between Bobbi and Randolph?

When Bobbi was finally found, she and her husband had an reunion and told the media that they wanted their privacy. Bobbi found it difficult to talk about and Randy didn't ask too many questions. He noticed differences in her behavior, Bobbi started asking if she could use the restroom or get herself a drink from the refrigerator.

In Texas, ages from the Oklahoma State Bureau of investigation were making some strange discoveries in the mobile home that Bobbi and Randolph were living in. They found condoms and a number of Valentine's Day cards that the two had exchanged. Residents said they thought that Bobbi appeared unhappy and was always looking over her shoulder, then Randolph was fired from the chicken farm and Bobbi said that his ailing health was the reason he was unable to work elsewhere.

Those who visited the mobile home saw Randolph working on his art projects all while Bobbi worked in brutally hot conditions on the chicken farm.

Every few weeks or so Bobbi drove to a grocery store in Center, Texas, where she would cash her paychecks and bought supplies. This was her chance to drive away or go to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office that was located just across the street from that grocery store.

Randolph suffered from a heart attack and he was rushed to a hospital, this was yet another perfect opportunity to escape, but she instead wrote a heartfelt letter to Randolph and stayed at his side.

Randolph had a psychological hold over Bobbi, this was apparent when another woman admitted that she was coerced by Randolph into taking Bobbi on her errands. The woman was a former high school teacher of Randolph, she said that he threatened to harm her family. Bobbi and the woman came up with plans to escape three different times, but they would end up talking each other out of it.

Prosecution

In 2008, three years after she was found on a Texan chicken farm, Bobbi was arrested and charged with felony charges for assisting Randolph in his escape. Randolph had passed away in 2007, and until his death he maintained that he had held Bobbi hostage after he kidnapped her.

It took three more years for this to go to trail as the prosecution alleged that Bobbi was in love with Randolph and that she helped him escape. Bobbi's attorneys still maintained that Randolph drugged, abducted, and repeatedly raped Bobbi Parker.

A former inmate that worked on the reformatory grounds testified that he saw Bobbi driving with Randolph in the family minivan the day of her disappearance. A psychological report from the reformatory confirmed that Randolph was very manipulative, even more so around women, and with Randolph's freedom to roam the grounds it was even argued that he could have escaped on his own without Bobbi's assistance.

Bobbi Parker ended up with a one-year sentence for helping Randolph escape and only served six months before she was released on April 6th, 2012.
