The Unsolved Murder of Deanna Cremin:

The murder of Deanna Cremin has haunted the town of Somerville Massachusetts for almost 27 years. Someone brutally murdered this beautiful teenage girl and has been walking around free for the better part of three decades since. Someone somewhere knows exactly what happened to this young girl, and they are still enjoying all the freedoms and opportunities that were so carelessly and brutally ripped away from Deanna Cremin.

I am not going to go into extreme details in this article as far as the background goes because the purpose of this article is to keep Deanna’s name and her case in the public eye, as her family needs closure, and Deanna needs and deserves to be at peace, but I am going to talk a little bit about Deanna as a person before I actually get into the murder itself. If anyone is interested in the background information on Deanna, her family, her life prior to her murder, etc., a lot that information will be available in the sources I will list at the end of this article. (I absolutely encourage this because these sources are very important in terms of understanding this case fully)

Deanna Cremin was born on March 26th, 1978 to her Mother Kathy and her Father Burt in Somerville Massachusetts. She had no known enemies, and everyone just seemed to absolutely adore her. Friends and Family of Deanna Cremin refer to her as a kind, caring, beautiful girl who was always happy and smiling.

Deanna loved children, and was a very well loved babysitter around her neighborhood. She was the second oldest of four children, so she and her older sister were very much involved in caring for and helping raise their two younger brothers, and at the time of her death, Deanna had even been taking a child development class that her high school offered, which is something that she enjoyed very much by all accounts. Deanna had high hopes for her future. In fact, the very last class assignment that Deanna had done required her to write a list of five goals that she had in life. Her goals were as follows: 1.) Graduate high school. 2.) Find a job that she enjoyed. 3.) To have a dark green convertible. 4.) To have a happy Family. 5.) To live a long and healthy life. Sadly, Deanna would not get to accomplish any of these goals before having her life tragically and brutally cut short on March 29th, 1995 just three days after her 17th birthday.

The day of Deanna’s death started out like any other. She went to school, and then she spent the evening with her boyfriend Thomas (Tommy) LeBlanc, studying and watching one of her favorite shows. Deanna and Tommy spent a lot of time together throughout their relationship prior to her death, Tommy would always walk her home, and he would even call her when he got home to let her know he’d gotten back safely and to talk to her before the two of them would go to bed. This night however, would not be like so many of the nights before it. This night would be the one that would change the lives of Deanna’s loved ones forever, as well as end the life of the beautiful 17 year old girl with so much potential and so much life ahead of her.

Deanna’s Mother, Kathy awoke around midnight and realized that Deanna was not home. This was a little bit off putting for her, but she just assumed that she had fallen asleep at her boyfriend’s house and would be home in the morning. When 6am rolled around, and Kathy awoke a second time to begin getting ready for work, she saw that Deanna was still not home. Now she was unimpressed. She called Tommy and told him that he needed to tell Deanna to get her butt home right then. This is when she went from irritated to worried. Tommy told her that he had walked Deanna halfway home the night before, and the last time he saw her, she was turning the corner and headed towards her house. Kathy was annoyed by the fact that he had only walked Deanna halfway home, but she was also confused by that, given the fact that he had always walked her all the way home in the past, and the one time that he didn’t, she never made it home.

Frustrated as well as worried, Kathy went to work, and continued to try and contact Deanna on the pager that she had given her a few days earlier for her 17th birthday. She received no response from Deanna, and then a short time after arriving at work, she got a phone call that would explain the heart breaking reality of her 17-year old daughters sudden silence. Deanna’s lifeless body had been found behind an old folks home by two young girls that she had once babysat. The life had been physically choked out of her. Deanna had fought so hard for her life that she had broken her hip during the attack that ultimately ended her young life.

Suspects:

Tommy (Deanna’s Boyfriend): Tommy’s behavior after Deanna’s murder was extremely odd, and definitely a cause for suspicion as to whether or not he was involved or responsible in any way. His awkward behavior including but not limited to not attending Deanna’s funeral, as well as the fact that he was the last person that Deanna was known to have been with were very obvious causes for concern, however, they were not the only reasons that speculation would be directed at Tommy. It seems that during his relationship with Deanna he had been very possessive over Deanna, in fact, her Mother even used the word obsessed when describing his attitude towards her daughter, even saying that Deanna had confided in her that she was seriously considering breaking off her relationship with Tommy. The boyfriend or man in the life of a woman is always considered a person of interest when she turns up missing or murdered, it’s just the way that it is. Sometimes they are guilty, sometimes they are not, but you have to admit, there are some pretty solid causes for concern surrounding the relationship between Deanna and Tommy. (Kathy has always found it extremely odd that the one night he didn’t walk her daughter all the way home, she ended up brutally murdered)

Charlie (The Fire Fighter): Charlie was a local firefighter from for lack of a better term a high up family. It was rumored that he and Deanna had been flirting with one another and possibly having some sort of relationship. Deanna’s little brother who was around 6 years old at the time had even told their Mother that he had seen Deanna kissing the nice fireman. It is unknown exactly what the relationship between the two were, however, Charlie was thoroughly question after Deanna’s murder and eventually cleared as a suspect in the case.

Michael Cremin (Deanna’s Stepfather): Michael was a shady character to say the least, and he also had a pretty violent background, especially when it came to Kathy.

The Unknown Man: There had been reports of an unknown man hanging around the area where Deanna had been found. This man strongly resembled a co-worker of Deanna’s as well.

You’ll be able to learn a lot more about these people in the sources I will have listed below.

It’s time that somebody pay for the murder of Deanna Cremin. It’s time that the family of Deanna Cremin were given closure. It’s time that Deanna Cremin be able to Rest In Peace.
