We may not condone murder, but certainly understand some situations require us to protect ourselves or loved ones at the cost of another person’s life. Sometimes, we may even feel that a person ‘deserved’ what they got”, as their actions in life were so horrific that they merely wasted fresh oxygen. Neither situation applies to the cases I’ll discuss below, undoubtedly those with some of the most ridiculous motives for murder you’ll ever hear.
Man Beat Wife to Death After She Prepared Meal Without Meat
Noor Hussein and his wife relocated from Pakistan to Brooklyn, New York.
In 2011, then 75-year-old Hussein beat his 66-year-old wife, Nazir Hussein, to death when she failed to prepare any meat for dinner.
Adding insult to injury, Hussein’s defense team claimed he didn’t intend to kill his wife, only beat her, an action socially and legally acceptable in his native country of Pakistan.
The Brooklyn man was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 25 years to life.
Group Beats Woman to Death After “Photobomb”
In January 2015, Annie ‘Kim” Pham accidentally photobombed a group of people standing in front of a Santa Ana nightclub. The angered group pounded on Pham, beating her severely enough she spent a week in ICU before succumbing to her injuries. At least one person was arrested in connection with Pham’s death.
Man Beats Brother to Death Because He Didn’t Thank Him For Dinner
Everyone appreciates being acknowledged for their kindness. It’s the thought that counts, after all. However, most of us move on when we feel that someone has been ungrateful for our kindness toward them.
Not the case for Fergus Glen, a Wainuiomata, New Zealand, man who murdered his brother with an ax in 2003 after he failed to thank him for preparing dinner.
Glen spent 16 years in prison before earning parole in 2019, during which time he was a model prisoner.
Man Bludgeons Roommate to Death Over Toilet Paper Dispute
Franklin Paul Crow beat his roommate to death with a claw hammer and sledgehammer in 2006 after the two got into a heated argument over who would buy toilet paper for the home.
Crow claimed Kenneth Matthews, 58, pulled out a knife during the argument, causing him to die for his life. He retrieved the hammers, he claimed, in self-defense.
The landlord found Matthews’ body and called the police.
Crow accepted a plea deal sentencing him to 30 years in prison.
Fart Joke Leads to Fight and Death of Teen
In 2012, a joke about farting turned deadly after two teenage girls got into a fight, leading to 16-year-old Shaakira Dorsey passing out on the ground after she became short of breath. Dorsey later died at a local hospital.
Police charged the surviving teenager, also 16, with murder in Dorsey’s death. The girl’s stepfather drove his stepdaughter to the location to fight Dorsey and encouraged her to punch Dorsey.
A Cheesy Situation
David L. Scott, a homeless man from St. Louis, MO, became upset when another homeless man named Roger Wilkes refused to share a bag of Cheetos potato chips with him.
Angered, Scott pulled a knife from his pocket and stabbed Wilkes in the chest. Several people witnessed the incident. Those witnesses provided police with a description of Scott, who had fled the scene.
He was arrested and charged with second-degree murder a short time later. Wilkes was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
