‘The Cult of NatureBoy’ Part IV: Documentary Commentary
Part IV

When the verdict passed down from the jury to seal the fate of Eligio Bishop, the wings of justice spread and took flight. All of the abuse and violence and acts of the start of force had been weighed. The word showed that he had been a rapist who will spend the rest of his life behind bars. An additional ten years added to his sentence just put a bow on the grim gift to the individuals he hurt.
All of his bluster and rage had subsided as he sat in the courtroom. As usual, he was wearing glasses for portions of the trial and then relegated to an orange jumpsuit and shackles in close circuit television (CCTV). If he had had any sense about him, he could have tackled this whole problem with a cult that did no harm to anyone and just gave irrational ideas as a venomous salve to the minds of the curious and innocent.
Instead, he showed how he couldn’t fight the law with insurmountable evidence and testimonials. While it was difficult for law enforcement to bring him in initially, (the jurisdiction, the warrants for arrest) police still remained steadfast in their resolve to land their man and give hope to his victims that he won’t be able to damage lives of other individuals. Even his defense attorney seemed like he wanted to switch to the prosecution. He downplayed Bishop’s actions and sort of just ran out steam in trying to defend a monster.
Everything that had happened in Costa Rica could be happening in Boise, Idaho or Rutland, Vermont. They could be homegrown US cults that might be able to put Bishop’s horrific actions to shame. His chest poked out, and screaming and cussing and hitting and sexually assaulting all showed marks of a complete brute. His specialty in controlling minds isn’t the issue. It is the fact that these minds latched onto his own warped ideology.
For him to be sentenced to life in prison plus ten years with no opportunity for parole should give a modicum of comfort to those he treated so severely.
As the nightmare ends with his terrible actions, Bishop will have plenty of time to contemplate the consequences. Will his powers be used in the day room? Will he say he’s God and seek to get free commissary? Will he make other inmates fold his sheets and feed him at the chow hall?
It’s interesting to wonder what Bishop will do with his fame behind the wall. Ironically, will he see himself streamed behind bars? What will be the outcome of his decisions? The best thing he can do is look forward to substandard meals, rigid schedules, and directions from people with actual power over his life. More irony. Once he pushes towards the margins of the ideas of the way a person in his position should be, he should know that his life is worthless because of his own doing. He plowed into the Earth his immorality and lack of ethics.
By knowing that he had no way of being that leading figure over men and women, he most likely will be a lighting rod for controversy with shackles on his hands and feet. His way of being someone that could describe his tales with color and lies made his story all the more corrosive. This male is someone who will forever be remembered for his vicious behavior and his overarching puniness as a human being. Humans are strong, capable, and smart. He lowered himself to a subhuman with his ugliness. He’ll forever die. Let him rot.
