Frozen Blaze - 01
Preface A relentless killer. A trail of bodies. And fireworks that light the way to a terrifying truth. In a sprawling northern city, a series of chilling murders shakes the community to its core. Ordinary lives are brutally cut short—an elderly woman found dead in a stairwell, a delivery driver tragically struck by a car, a teacher’s apparent suicide—each crime more baffling than the last. But there's one disturbing common thread: at every scene, the remains of recently set-off fireworks.

Car Bomb Terror
It all happened back in 1987, Tommy Christian was an obese Italian man who was spending time with his family in Sicily. They had just left America to return home for the summer, however Tommy had made a large number of enemies in New York city, as he was an infamous mafia mobster. One who had organised all kinds of different crimes around the city, since the early 1960s, Tommy had climbed up the ranks to become the head boss of his family gang. He never thought in a million years, that his foes from such a distant land would ever track him down all the way up here in Italy. So when he climbed inside his luxury car after a long and delicious meal at the city's finest restaurant, he felt that his life was in no danger whatsoever. Then, when he turned the keys in his motor and sparked the engine. The whole car exploded and set fire! The explosion was loud and shattered glass from all around the street, from other car windows, wine glasses and house windows. There were unfortunately a lot of tourists passing by when the car bomb was set off, killing at least 10 innocent people, perhaps more alongside the infamous Tommy Christian. It had been such a beautiful summer's day too, only for it to end in such horror and bloodshed was truly tragic. A police investigation was soon opened, as Detectives looked into the murder. It was quickly proved that the reason Tommy's car exploded, was because a car bomb had been placed beneath the front bumper of the car. CCTV showed a hooded man, who interfered with Tommy's car while he was having a meal at the restaurant. Detectives found it infuriating and odd, that restaurant staff didn't notice or stop this mysterious stranger. Unfortunately the killer walked off any available surveillance footage and became impossible to track. However, the fact such a thing was allowed to happen in the first place was very suspicious to the Detectives, as surely someone would've seen this happening and perhaps chose not to report it. The restaurant staff were soon questioned. At first it seemed everyone there was innocent, so the Detectives left the restaurant and began following other leads. They soon discovered that one of Tommy's rivals was with another gang named the McCrearys, an Irish crime family who often had gang wars with the Christians over turf in the burrows of New York City. Out of all the different enemies Tommy had, this name stuck out to them in particular, because the owner of the restaurant where Tommy's car had been parked outside of, was owned by a woman named Maria McCreary. She was also from Ireland and had recently bought the restaurant from an Italian owner for almost a million euros. The timing was bizarre, alongside the insane purchase price. So soon she was visited again by police and interrogated extensively. She was a smart woman however, refusing to speak without a high paid lawyer present. This challenge proved difficult for the local police to overcome, but by questioning other people around her, including the previous restaurant owners, it was soon proven that Maria was indeed part of the same crime family in New York. There were photos with her alongside the crime family, found inside one of the McCrearys pubs in New York. Now that Police knew she was connected to the rival crime family, it wasn't hard to piece the evidence together. It was soon concluded that Maria knew Tommy was going away to Sicily during this time and bought the restaurant in preparation, perhaps there was a spy among the Christian family who ratted Tommy out, this was something the Police couldn't quite prove but it made for a solid theory. Maria McCreary was soon jailed for the murder, and the McCreary family in New York were soon investigated by American police too. However it seems they were able to bribe and talk their way out of trouble. The McCreary family still operates within New York to this very day. So next time you visit the Big Apple, make sure not to anger any Irish gangsters. They may just put an early end to your holiday.

Chef The Killer
Fictional murder mystery story Being a chef is hard work. You've likely seen the TV shows where the big boss screams at his underlings, demanding them to work faster and cook better, while also calling them horrid slurs in the process. You may think that's over-exaggerated, a hyperbolic display of dominance, purely for the camera and the audience's amusement. Perhaps once upon a time this was a show, but in recent years; this behaviour has actually become the norm in many everyday kitchens at restaurants. The pressure is unbelievable, the time restraints are suffocating and the patience of head chefs is nonexistent! Every meal must be cooked on time and ready for public consumption, no dish can be left to go cold, it must be sent out as soon as possible before it gets cold. A good kitchen needs to work like clockwork, everyone must be on the ball and one slip up can result in catastrophe! Of course, everyone is human, which means mistakes are unfortunately inevitable and in some rare cases, some chefs have been pushed far beyond their limit! This is the story of Andrew Parkinson, who at one point in time was a young optimistic man, who only wanted to pursue his love of catering. He loved cooking since he was a boy, always making beans on toast for breakfast, which transcended into making Tuna Pasta Bake and then his own Stir-fry by the time he was a teenager. Andrew adored this hobby, he loved to experiment with different flavours and make his own personal favourite dishes. Even his parents let him make the family dinner, the Sunday roasts and Christmas feast. He adored it and everyone thought the young man had a promising future as a chef. That was until he began studying catering at college, even in that environment he was exposed to the harsh truth of running a restaurant. The tutors still yelled at him exactly like a head chef would, although they never swore at the students, they still threw insults and made demands, exactly how a real boss would in this stressful kitchen environment. Andrew wasn't a fan of the chef attire either, it was too tight and got incredibly hot while slaving over a hot stove. He still graduated with top marks, but his time there was rather unpleasant. He presumed it was only because the college was cheap and in a rough area of Liverpool. He believed that landing a job at a fancy restaurant in the nicer area of the city, would be where he'd really enjoy himself and actually grow to love cooking for a living. So, he got a job at the best five stat restaurant in Liverpool. He was immediately impressed by the restaurant's interior, this place was posh, yet cosy at the same time. There was a nice ambience in the air, as smooth jazz played comfortably from the speakers. The waiters and waitresses were incredibly friendly, always smiling and shaking hands, showing the utmost courtesy. This place was a dream come true and he impressed the boss at the job interview, they were pleased with his catering qualifications and believed Andrew to be a perfect fit for the team. The only thing that concerned the young man, was just how strict and loud the kitchen actually was. Chefs ran around the place like olympic runners, while the bosses yelled relentlessly at the lower rankings staff. It was downright intimidating, but the pay would be incredible. So the very next day, when the boss of the kitchen called him up and invited him to join his team. Young naive Andrew accepted the offer with the utmost excitement. A week later he'd soon regret it, as being a chef here was beyond hard work, it was truly exhausting and stressful. Andrew was soon storming around the kitchen, as he had already become the new whipping boy of the kitchen. It was him who would do all the most awful jobs, yet he couldn't properly perform his duties. The head chef was quickly becoming disappointed in poor young Andrew, he wasn't what the boss expected. Andrew himself was already yelling and growling, knowing full well he was being taken advantage of. He had a particularly bad relationship with Quinn Courtney, a huge man who wasn't at all friendly. To be fair, a lot of people disliked Quinn, he always picked on the new staff and Andrew was no exception! Quinn was almost forty but acted like some teenage bully, always making mean jokes about everyone's mannerisms and appearance. He wasn't really handsome himself, looking very much like a humanoid bulldog, but nobody could offend this wicked man, no matter how much they screamed or insulted him. Andrew had already reported Quinn for workplace bullying to the head chef, who wasn't at all on his side. He told Andrew that Quinn was a valued asset to his team, whereas Andrew was not. One day the head chef ordered Andrew to venture into the huge industrial freezer, that was inside the kitchen, to gather some carrots for the soup they were making. This was during a very busy shift, where everyone was far too busy to yell or argue amongst each other. After ten minutes, even the head chef had forgotten he had ordered Andrew into the freezer, they all presumed the young lad had enough and bailed out of work. The whole kitchen was furious with Andrew for disappearing, that was until the next day when cleaners came in the morning to go over the place a second time, before opening the restaurant. One of them entered the freezer within the kitchen, what he saw; was something horrifying that stunk like rotting flesh. It was the frozen body of Andrew Parkinson! He had been locked inside the freezer all night, as everyone simply presumed he went home, nobody had checked the freezer as the Temperature was still accurate and all the ingredients had been used up that day. So there was no need to enter the freezer at the shift's end. Police came as soon as the cleaner called about his death, they began investigating and got their hands upon CCTV footage that showed the freezer door closing by itself, when Andrew was still inside. At first this seemed to be an unfortunate accident, however when Detectives looked deeper into this case, they soon discovered that the freezer door was set on a timer (to prevent the food inside from over heating) when Andrew entered, the door was already open so they looked further back through the footage and spotted the head chef opening the freezer door himself, moments before ordering Andrew into his cold coffin. The freezer door closed mere seconds after he entered. It became tough to prove this was an intentional murder, because the head chef (named Michael Bailey) had an expensive lawyer and wouldn't speak without him. Eventually though, Michael was sentenced with involuntary man slaughter, as the courts believed Andrew's death was by complete accident yet Michael still failed to ensure the safety of his own staff. He was given a short five year prison sentence and was let go 2 years early due to good behaviour, as far as we all know, Michael Bailey is still a head chef. So next time you work in a kitchen, be sure to follow the rules or else you might just meet, a chilling end!

Lethal Justice
There was once a middle aged man named Logan Wayne, he was obsessed with comic books from an early age, especially super hero stories that depicted powerful people wearing multiple coloured spandex. As a child he always fantasized about having different superpowers; telekinesis, invisibility, super strength and x-ray vision were just some of the fantasies he had. The first comics he read were bright, colourful and whimsical. Stories of proud men and women, who fought intergalactic alien overlords or giant beasts from below the ocean such as giant sea monsters. There were stories of cruel tyrants and super villains, who needed to be arrested or punished for their crimes. As Logan grew into adolescence, he began to read more gritty comic book stories. Ones where the villains were sadistic and unforgivably monstrous. Stories where the heroes had no choice but to kill the bad guys, because they were too dangerous to be kept alive. Once he reached his late twenties, Logan began reading hard boiled detective novels too, alongside the mature crime themed comics he had been collecting. The heroes were much darker, becoming vigilantes who worked outside of the law, carrying out a sort of illegal justice. They wore black clothes to blend in with the dark, usually depicted as hardened men in their late thirties to early forties, the type of guys who served in the army, went through the police force and saw some really messed up stuff. They were cool, leather jacket wearing heroes, who spent their time drinking whiskey by the bar, hunting down the most despicable scumbags imaginable. These gritty crime stories really spoke to Logan, who had lived his whole life in the gutters of Detroit, seeing criminals and drug dealers run rampant around his home city. He knew many of these bad guys got away with their evil, as the law system was easily abused, meaning many got away from actual punishment. Logan knew the sad reality of this world his whole life, choosing to ignore it until one day, he returned home after a long day's work only to realise his house had been broken into. He gasped in terror, racing inside his home, as the front door had been smashed open as if by some powerful superhero from one of the old comics he read. What he found Inside still haunts him to this day, his wife had been murdered, trying to defend their only son. Her name was Debra and she had been stabbed multiple times into her stomach, blood still poured from the mouth of her dead face, with little baby Robin still crying in the cot behind her. Logan raced to his son and cradled him in his arms, hushing Robin back to sleep. Once the baby was asleep, Logan called the police and a murder investigation was soon conducted.
