TikTok has become almost everyone's favorite form of entertainment during quarantine. The platform has catchy dances and unique challenges but this one seems to be a bit creepy. The song "Sweet But Psycho" by Ava Max has gained some traction on the friendly platform in 2020, pretty girls would make videos to this song and gain popularity but this one TikTok account decided to make the meaning of the song, literal.

The TikTok video showcases Isabella Guzman, entering the courtroom while smiling. Isabella does a smile and hand gesture towards the court camera that I'm guessing is what this person is indicating as "sweet". The TikTok video gained widespread popularity and even traveled to Twitter where people are saying the viewers who enjoy this content may be sick themselves, while others are arguing whether "pretty" people should be prosecuted for their crimes.

I know you're probably wondering who is Isabella Guzman and what is all the commotion about. In 2013, Isabella, stabbed her mother to death 151 times in their Aurora, CO home. Yes, you read it right, 151 times, to the face, neck, and torso. Before we get into the details, let's take a look into Isabella's past life. Her parents divorced when she was a young child because her mother was seeing another man during their marriage and Isabella spent most of her years, living with her father, Robert Guzman. Isabella's mother Yun-Mi Hoy remarried her stepfather, Ryan Hoy.

Isabella would later on move in with her mother and stepfather which she didn't like the idea of because she felt as if her father was being replaced and she was known to have an untreated mental illness, which unluckily, her mother got the bad end of it. While living with her mother, Isabella went to Overland High School where she later dropped out and started to spend the nights at her friend's and boyfriend's house.

Isabella's unruly behavior was too much for her mother and it became evident in the summer of 2013. Yun-Mi found out that Isabella was sneaking her boyfriend in and out of the house while she was at work and it caused a big argument between the two. According to CNN, Ryan Hoy, Isabella's stepfather Guzman and her mother had often fought in the past, but Guzman spit in her mother’s face and became “more threatening and disrespectful towards her mother” Yun-Mi was so afraid that she asked Ryan to sleep in bed with her that night.

The following Wednesday of August 28th, 2013, Isabella sent a threatening email to her mother saying "You will pay" according to official criminal records. In fear of her life, Yun-Mi called the cops on Isabella and fled from the house until she felt safe enough to come back home. When the police arrived they gave Isabella a warning about her behavior and since she was of age, her mother had all rights to kick her out of her house.

The whole situation seems crazy if you think about it. The parents never took initiative to help Isabella's illness which caused it to become worse, she had a very bad temper when it came to her mother and she was even threatening her mom. In cases like this, I think more than a warning should have been taken as action, if she was happier with her dad, then I believe that where she should have gone to and stayed.

Isabella's biological father was said to even have a talk with his daughter after the big argument. He spoke with a news channel and said "I went to talk to Isabella and we sat down in the backyard looking at the trees and the animals and I started to talk to her about the respect that people should have for their parents." according to Murderpedia. It seemed that Robert would try to calm her down and use their bond to get through to her about respecting her mother and stepfather but I'm guessing she took that as punishment or felt that she got into so much trouble because of her mother calling the cops on her because hours later is when she decided to kill her mother.

Yun-Mi came home exhausted from a long night at work the following night, greeting her husband and informed him about wanting to take a shower. Not too long after Yun-Mi went to go shower, Ryan, sat down to eat his dinner when he heard a thumping sound coming from upstairs while his wife yelled his name. In a hurry, Ryan rushed upstairs to be faced with a locked bathroom door while the shower was still running. Anxious about what's going on, he opens the door to see Isabella who slams the door back shut and locks it, preventing Ryan from entering.

I could only imagine how horrifying it was when he noticed blood spilling from beneath the bathroom door. He got himself together fast enough to call the cops and say that he believes his wife was being attacked"While on the phone with dispatch, Hoy said that at first he was unable to open the door because Guzman wouldn't let him enter and he heard Yun-Mi Hoy say "Jehovah" before the bathroom door opened." according to Murderpedia . Isabella stood in the doorway wearing a sports bra and shorts while holding a knife, emotionless, with a blank stare she walked past Ryan who immediately ran to give his naked and blood-covered wife, chest compressions.

Yun-Mi was pronounced dead on the scene while Isabella was on the run at a nearby supermarket where she told employees she was "raped" and was sure the person was following her but she didn't want cops involved. I don't know oblivious those workers were that day to not alert cops about a situation such as what she portrayed. It seemed like Isabella's lucky break until the next morning when the Aurora police department decided to send out undercover cops to find Isabella, who was in the parking garage. After one undercover cop spoke to Isabella, she walked out of the garage where they were met by 2 other undercover cops who quickly drew their guns on her along with the first cop who lured her out. Clearly, Isabella has been caught but she got to quick thinking when they started to question her

Isabella sat on a curb and denied being herself, she gave them a fake name and claimed she was from another city and had no clue about what was going on, when the police then pulled out her ID, she still clung to the idea that she was not who they said she was.

Isabella was eventually arrested and at the court hearing, she pled insanity until they had her checked at a hospital to see if she was telling the truth. The results came back as Isabella suffering from severe paranoid schizophrenia and were not in control of her action the night of the incident and her plea was accepted.

Isabella is currently being held without bond at the colorado mental health institution until state doctors determine she is safe to rejoin society. According to Denver CBS "In November 2020 she launched an effort to be released, telling CBS4's Rick Sallinger she is on medication and her sanity has been restored while alleging she suffered years of abuse at the hands of her family." and it has been granted that she can leave to do certain things while on a GPS tracker.

With all this being said, what do you think about the whole "Sweet But Psycho" title? Do you think she's cleared to be released back into society after 7 years? I personally think that she should have been imprisoned with such a heinous crime like that, the whole mental plea doesn't mean anything once you've done what you have done, regardless of it being proven true. Although I think she should have served her actual time, 7 years on medication to help deal with her situation is a lot and if she's being monitored and kept on sed medication, I think it'd be okay for her to rejoin society and catch up on the real world.
