ACCLAIMED TRUE CRIME PODCAST ANNOUNCES RUN OF 5 UK LIVE SHOWS IN SEPTEMBER 2019
Critically-acclaimed true crime podcast RedHanded have today announced a string of UK live shows in September 2019. The announcement comes in the week that friends & co-hosts Suruthi & Hannah release the 100th episode of their hugely popular show. The tour run will visit five major cities across the UK, including a London show at the Islington Assembly Hall on September 21, 2019.
Nominated for ‘Best True Crime’, and making the top 10 of the ‘Listener’s Choice’ (the only independent podcast to do so) at the British Podcast Awards in 2019, Suruthi and Hannah started RedHanded in 2017, and have, on a weekly basis, been jumping head-first into all manner of macabre madness since.
Covering a different story each week, they delve into everything from big time serial killers, serial killers you may never have heard of, satanic possessions, disturbing mysteries, bizarre whodunits, and more. Whether it's cannibals, killers, or cults, RedHanded breaks down the case to explore the cultural, societal, and psychological drivers of the most extreme human behaviour.
The duo’s first string of live shows promise to be a thrilling experience as they invite audiences to join them for an evening of wit, murder and WTFs!
Of the announcement of their first live tour, Suruthi Bala and Hannah Maguire said in a joint statement:
“We couldn’t be more excited about the launch of our UK tour, for the past two years we’ve been talking murder, mystery, and mayhem from our DIY bedroom “studio” so now to hit the road, get up on that stage, hear the laughs, feel the gasps and see the shock—we can’t bloody wait.”
Recently, RedHanded released their 100th episode of the podcast, where they dissect the story of Gilberto Valle, the NYC cannibal cop, whose wife discovered he’d been planning to abduct, rape, torture, kill, and eat women—including her.
RedHanded was founded in 2017, after Suruthi and Hannah met at a family gathering and bonded over their love of wine and true crime. Half-joking, Hannah suggested they start a podcast, and the weekly podcast was born. The show now boasts 200,000 average weekly listeners and a loyal following of true crime fans.
