Acclaimed producer and rap artist Young Chop still has some growing up to do.

Pioneering hip hop producer and rapper, Young Chop, is out for the snitches. Instead of embracing the tattlers for keeping him on the straight and narrow, he’s lashed out at those who tell after being released from jail on $705 bond. He feels that snitching is the problem but the real issue was his lack of legitimate tags, proof of insurance, invalid driver’s license and reckless driving.

If someone opened their mouth against the legendary beat maker, then that served him well. Chop has to come to grips with reality. The snitches remain the solution, not the problem. They represent the solution to all of these issues plaguing the hip hop genre.

Why did Young Chop not respect the rules of the road and understand that he could’ve been caught by the police anyway? Snitches help to regulate the game and keep those who step out of bounds in check. Young chop is too juvenile even as a twenty-six-year old to recognize that there are societal barriers that must not be breached.

As he points his finger at unknown snitches who actually helped him on his way, Young Chop neglects to remember that his untoward ways have consequences. With his Instagram live post displaying him replacing his wrist and neck jewelry, he says that”y’all boys told on” him. He’s like the repugnant little guttersnipe who doesn’t know which way is up. Suppose that there had been a shooting and Chop fit the description of the assailant. His expired tags among other charges would lead police to believe that he was the shooter. He could’ve been involved in an altercation that could have cost him his life.

What the young artist fails to see is the fact that his actions led him to be briefly put behind prison walls. His inability to face facts is what might be his ruin. Nevermind the shade thrown by French Montana, Young Chop needs to learn the basics of living a proper life. His out-of-control behavior does not speak well on the young man.

While he’s out of confinement, he should focus on making better beats on which himself and others can rhyme. He’s made hits in over a decade’s worth of work. He has more admirers than foes and those who like him may be falling off fast. They might be tired of the antics and stray shots that he fires on social media.

Young Chop has the opportunity to set the record straight about snitching. He should uphold it as a valuable action. He should view it as a way of elucidating the shady corners of an individual’s personal life for one. In addition, he should support snitching for the safety of innocents.

His mini-stint behind bars should prove to be a benefit rather than a detriment to the producer. He should take this situation as a chance for self-improvement. He could lose some weight, produce quality work, and live life as a model citizen.

Snitches only show up to check people. They point out the flaws and ensure that laws have not been violated. The art of snitching requires the tattler to not bring down the person in question, but to build him or her up so that they can live by the letter of the law.

Young Chop certainly can learn from his errors. He has what it takes to be mentioned among DJ Premiere, Dr. Dre, And fellow Chicagoan Kanye West with his acumen for stitching together sounds. But that all requires his own, selfish free will. If he takes his proper role in hip hop, he could reach the pinnacle of hip hop megastardom. And snitches would’ve helped him to get there.
