Will people ever learn the lesson of not playing around with the almighty COVID-19 virus? Media outlets worship at the altar of the novel coronavirus as clicks and views continue to rack up in the name of the virus.

Now, a Texas man has been charged with perpetrating a hoax related to spreading COVID-19. This is ridiculous. How depraved must one be to even consider this act? Aside from time that he could face in federal prison, the idea of giving someone money to act out this hoax is enough to convict him in the court of morality. But the truth is that the FBI does not take these actions lightly under the law.

The arrest of this man shows that he contemplated the crime and prepared to have someone carry out the vicious plan. The federal government regarded this hoax as a potential act of mass destruction. How does this man still think of his failed plan? Does he recognize that his irrationality will likely land him in a high security housing unit? The unreason that he exhibited is enough to disqualify him as an upright, ethical individual.

For the agents that arrested 39-year-old Charles Perez, they all should be lauded and applauded. Their fortitude brought to justice a maniac who could’ve done real damage and destruction in the lives of the populace. They represent the guardians of this nation and should be upheld as citizens who seek to squelch the designs of evildoers.

Perez should be put through every check and his family and friends should have a flashlight put under their pants up their dresses to find out if they have similar ideas. Perez messed with the right ones this time. The full thrust of the federal government came crashing into Perez like a ram. He now knows that justice will rise up against him and ensure that he has no respite from the unknown and unknowable. Perez has done himself in for not being a rational man. His plot to pay a person to infect other people with COVID-19 all led to being in vain. The federal agents who took Perez down deserve raises and promotions. Perez deserves a jumpsuit, three hots, and cot. He might be granted exercise for an hour of the day, but that should be about it.

It is said that Perez took to Facebook to announce that he paid someone to spread the virus. In all of the ineptitude and stupidity that he showed, it was platinum to the FBI. All they had to do was track where Perez lived and cart him away. Although the threat had no weight, the act of planning a hoax was enough for the agents to wrap the cold steel bracelets of justice around his wrists. There is no room for someone to make up stories and troll people about something so serious. If anyone plans to do this, they will most likely end up like Perez. This novel coronavirus is obviously a severe occurrence which has claimed the lives of tens of thousands so far. For someone like Perez to make hoaxes exhibits a mind devoid of reason. Had he some shred of rationality, he would not have made a threat in the first place.

His inability to deal with reality brought him to this low state. Whether he meant it as a cruel joke or a serious plan matters not. He concocted a scheme to pay someone to spread the virus. He should be put under the prison for his role in spreading potential hurt, harm, and danger. While he may have sniggered at the idea of bankrolling a person to pass on COVID-19, is he laughing now? With the time that he will most likely receive, he should consider thinking about his misdeeds and to live with this irredeemable evil.
