The journey of Private Investigator Danny Marowski goes sideways when he’s lunged into a kidnapping case . Especially after connecting with old friend Chase Stinewall. Together things take a turn for the worst when the kidnapping isn’t the only thing afoot.

Chapter 1

Opening Credits as the song **Keep On Loving You** by *REO Speedwagon* starts playing

INT. BATHROOM - NIGHT

Text pops up “1997”

We see an unknown person at first. They reach out and put on two black gloves. They then grab a pistol. The camera then shifts and shows the figure is Chase Stinewall. Text then pops up

“1997”

Chase then walks into the living room of the house. He walks over to the jukebox and turns the volume up louder to drown out the sounds of the person struggling that’s tied and gagged on a chair. Chase then aims the pistol at the man’s head. He pulls the trigger as it hard cuts to black as the music stops

CUT TO:

Jim and Brooks. They’re walking down a hotel hallway. Both dressed in casual clothes. Text pops up “2003”

INT. HOTEL HALLWAY - DAY

BROOKS

Remember the deal. We need him alive. We don’t know if this is our guy. We’re looking for Carlos, drug informant for us.

JIM

I don’t know what he looks like, I wasn’t given any information.

BROOKS

I know, just follow my lead.

Brooks knocks on the door

CARLOS

Who is it!?

BROOKS

Room service!

CARLOS

Hold on one minute!

The door then unlocks and Brooks pulls out his pistol and aims it at the guy

BROOKS

Back up into the room.

The man backs up and we see and bloodied and beaten man in the corner with his hands tied

Jim closes and locks the door as Brooks forces Carlos onto the bed

INT. HOTEL ROOM - DAY

Brooks and Jim both take out silencers and put them on their guns

BROOKS

Where’s our agent?

CARLOS

What?

the bloodied man speaks up

MITCH

Who are you guys?

He can barely get out

BROOKS

We’re FBI don’t worry, you’re safe now. Jim make sure he’s ok.

Jim goes over to the man and starts tending to his wounds

BROOKS

(Cont’d)

So... (Brooks sees a book on the bed) what’s this?

He goes to grab it and Carlos slightly moves. Brooks grabs him by the neck and puts the gun in his face

BROOKS

(Cont’d)

Don’t move! Flat on the fucking bed!

CARLOS

I’ve never seen that book in my life!

BROOKS

Well you’ve been looking at it all day.

CARLOS

You don’t know that.

BROOKS

Hands behind your back.

Carlos is hesitant

BROOKS

(Cont’d)

Now!

He lays flat on his stomach and puts his hands behind his back. Brooks cuffs him

BROOKS

(Cont’d)

Where’s the agent?

CARLOS

I don’t know what you’re talking about dude, I’m just a simple guy in a hotel room.!”

BROOKS

Explain the fucking dying man in the goddamn corner then!

Brooks says as he puts his gun to Carlos’s head

CARLOS

I don’t know!

BROOKS

That is where you are wrooong, you do know. What the fuck is going on?

JIM

I heard you knew about one of our agents going missing a few weeks ago his name was Carlos.

CARLOS

Carlos?

BROOKS

Carlos, my budddyyy!

JIM

He had contacts by the name of Jeremiah, his ex wife was Alicia and Carlos was very good friends with a man name Chad.

CARLOS

What’s your names?

BROOKS

I’m not gonna give you my name because you don’t deserve to know.

JIM

C’mon, Carlos worked for the cartel.

BROOKS

I get free tacos from Carlos!

CARLOS

Cartel? You think I know Carlos?

JIM

We know you know Carlos.

CARLOS

How do you know?

JIM

We got pictures of you guys all over.

Brooks grabs Carlos by the throat

BROOKS

Well we know you know Carlos. So I wanna know what you know about him.

CARLOS

Let me sit up and we can talk.

BROOKS

Sit up.

Carlos sits up

JIM

If you don’t tell what we wanna know we’re gonna have to use extreme measures.

CARLOS

What?

A phone goes off. It’s vibrating. Brooks looks and picks it up

BROOKS

Is this your phone?

CARLOS

Yeah that’s my phone.

BROOKS

Who the fuck is this calling?

He shows him the number and Carlos doesn’t budge

BROOKS

(Cont’d)

See that fan over there? If you don’t start talking in the next 10 fucking seconds. I’m gonna take the front off and shove those spinning blades in your fucking face. Do I make myself clear?

Carlos goes quiet

CARLOS

I don’t think the FBI’s like that..

BROOKS

We’re not FBI, we’re FBI agents.

Jim looks at Brooks a little confused but doesn’t say anything

CARLOS

Are you sure you guys are FBI?

Carlos is cut off

BROOKS

The FBI isn’t like that, but FBI agents are. See when one of our guys goes missing, they call in me.

CARLOS

So Carlos, he wanted to.

He’s cut off again by Brooks as Brooks grabs Carlos by the throat

BROOKS

He wanted!? He wanted to what? That’s past tense!

BROOKS

(Cont’d)

Restart the sentence and say he wants!

CARLOS

Carlos wants to get drugs.

Brooks rolls his eyes

JIM

Brooks.

BROOKS

What?

JIM

Can we talk for a minute? Outside the room?

BROOKS

Sure, where’s the keycard?

CARLOS

On the table.

Brooks grabs it and the two go to walk out

BROOKS

If I come in here and you’re out of those cuffs.

CARLOS

I get it!

BROOKS

Good.

Brooks and Jim walk out and Jim closes the door

JIM

Brooks, what the hell is going on here? I thought we were here for a sting operation?

BROOKS

Well, we weren’t being completely honest me and the chief... look... we needed someone green who didn’t know anything.

JIM

What’s going on?

BROOKS

I can’t tell you. Just follow my lead. Alright? When we get back me and the chief will explain. Let’s go back in.

CUT TO BLACK

CUT TO:

FBI agents Ricky and Jim. They’re in a hotel room. Both are geared up. Almost in military gear but not quite. It’s more casual. Jim takes a gun case out from under the bed

INT. HOTEL ROOM - DAY

RICKY

Y’know there’s a good chance we’re gonna die doing this right?

Camera turns to Jim as he lights the cigarette and takes a puff

JIM

Yeah I know...

Jim opens then gun case and inside is a unassembled machine gun. He takes it out and starts putting it together

HARD CUT TO BLACK:

BLANK SCREEN:

Police sirens fill the air. Heavy footsteps can be heard. Text pops up “6 months later”

CHIEF

(O/S)

Remember. If you go down, you go down. They can’t know the FBI was involved with this.

CUT TO: Agents Jim and Ricky along with another man named John bursting into a house as sirens blast. John is dragging a hostage with him. The owner is a lady and she screens at the site of them

INT. HOUSE - DAY

JIM

On the fucking ground now!

The lady gets down on the ground

JIM

(Cont’d)

Alright in here!

The 3 rush down some stairs as John drags the hostage with. John closes the door shut and throws the hostage down the stairs as he groans in pain. He locks the door

INT. BASEMENT - DAY

ALEX

Fuck, I can’t believe I did. Man, oh man. Fuck!

JIM

Calm down.

JOHN

Fuck! How are we gonna get out here? We gotta get out.

RICKY

Look around you. We’re in a basement. Where are we gonna go?

JOHN

Fuck... I don’t know, door?

RICKY

What?

JOHN

Fuck I don’t know!

JIM

Calm down! Everything’s fine.

JOHN

I’m not going down for this!

JIM

Calm down we still have him. We can get out ok.

John then notices the back room

JOHN

I got the back room filled with explosives. I’m not getting taken alive.

JIM

Where’s your detonator?

RICKY

Look, you’re talking out of your ass. You’re stressed and panicked. Calm down and everything will be fine.

JIM

We gotta trade the hostage.

Sirens still blare. Jim then notices a window. A small one that they can fit through

JIM

Hey Alex?

JOHN

Yeah?

Jim shoots John in the head killing him. John drops dead

RICKY

What the fuck was that?

JIM

I got a plan. Let’s go through the window. Right up there.

Jim grabs a folding chair and puts it by the window. He smashes it and begins to crawl through. He’s barely able to squeeze through. Cutting himself along the way. He turns around to look at Ricky

RICKY

What about the hostage?

JIM

You know the mission.

Ricky looks at the hostage. Bag still over his head

RICKY

Sorry.

HOSTAGE

Wait, no!

Ricky shoots the hostage in the head. Ricky then wipes his gun clean of prints and puts it in Alex’s hands. He then climbs through the window. Sirens can be heard blaring. They’re in a back alley

JIM

Alright, let’s ditch the gear and get the fuck out of here.

Jim and Ricky start taking off their gear as it cuts to black

FADE IN:

INT. BASEMENT - DAY

Text pops up “1 month later”

We fade in on the same basement Jim, Ricky and Alex were in. This time it’s cleared out almost completely. There’s one man sitting at a table with a rifle. He’s waiting as he hears footsteps above

A man then rushes down the stares with a gun and the man sitting on the table shoots the man in the leg. He falls to the ground and winces in pain. Before he can reload the other two rush down. The man at the table not able to reload goes for his pistol. The other two have guns. The one in front a shotgun and the man in the back a pistol

Well I’m gonna be honest. My weak points are romance when it comes to writing. You won’t find much of that here. Horror is also something I struggle with. Everything else though is good.
