I believe many of you have used the antivirus software McAfee in your company, and some of you have commented that McAfee is the best security software in the world because he can stop you from using your computer!

Never thought that the 75-year-old virus software mogul and Silicon Valley big shot John McAfee hanged himself in a Spanish prison! And the death came just hours after a Spanish court ruled that he be extradited to the United States.

McAfee was arrested in Spain in October 2020 after being indicted on tax evasion charges in Tennessee, USA, and in New York in a cryptocurrency fraud case.

A Spanish judge granted his extradition to the U.S., and McAfee faces tax evasion charges for the 2016, 2017 and 2018 tax years as a result.

John McAfee was found dead in his cell at a prison near Barcelona around 1 p.m. ET this Wednesday, and prison medical staff and guards had unsuccessfully attempted to perform life-saving procedures after finding McAfee.

It is reported that McAfee had left a suicide note in his pants pocket before he died, but the contents of the note have not been made public. The cause of death is currently under investigation, but after a preliminary investigation McAfee may have died of suicide.

Behind the "suicide", there are many doubts.

According to a prison official: McAfee was a cellmate, but McAfee was found dead when the cellmate was not in the cell. The official added that the person was doing other normal activities in the prison at the time.

When asked if authorities had implemented special surveillance measures on McAfee's cell, the official said, "I don't know about that."

The incident in which McAfee hanged himself in prison is reminiscent of Epstein, the financier who previously hanged himself in prison as well. A few days before Epstein's death, the surveillance model was lifted and his cellmate was transferred.

Epstein's case was so involved that his list of associates included then-President Donald Trump, former President and Mrs. Clinton and British Prince Andrew. Last October, after his detention, McAfee tweeted, "I'm content here. I have friends. The food is good. Everything is good. Just so you know, if I hang myself like Epstein, it's not my fault."

And back in November 2019, McAfee tweeted something similar: a very subtle message from U.S. officials, "McAfee we're coming for you! We're going to kill you ourselves." I got a tattoo today just in case. If I kill myself, which I didn't, I was actually murdered, look at the tattoo on my right arm.

McAfee created a cryptocurrency called WHACKD. He tweeted a poster depicting Hillary Clinton holding a slice of pizza and looking at a pair of feet dangling in the air. The poster says that Epstein did not kill himself, seemingly implying that someone tried to kill him.

McAfee's various statements during his life cast a mysterious light on his "suicide. In the hours after his death, #McAfeeDidntKillHimself became a trending topic on Twitter.

It was discovered that McAfee had posted an ins with the letter "Q" on it before his death, but the status was quickly deleted. Some believe Q refers to QAnon, the notorious far-right conspiracy theory group behind it. However, any discussion that involves conspiracy theories is suspect. It's unclear who controls McAfee's Instagram account, and Instagram says it is "investigating" the situation.

After McAfee's death, his widow, Janice McAfee, said her husband was not suicidal and blamed "this tragedy" on U.S. authorities, demanding a thorough investigation into the matter.

"His last words to me were: I love you, I'll call you at night," Janice said, adding that "he would never quit in this way, he would never end his life in this way, ever." Janicej insists that these words would not come from a man who was going to take his own life, and that McAfee had been eager to spend his remaining years fishing and drinking and enjoying life.

The cause of McAfee's death is currently under investigation. Janice also requested a second independent autopsy after the official autopsy was completed.
