How I got Scammed!!

Once upon a time in the serene town of Virginia, two young boys named John and David became fast friends. David had recently moved to the neighborhood in 2002, and little did he know that this encounter would shape his life forever. Living as neighbors, John and David quickly bonded over their shared love for sports, particularly baseball.

David's arrival in Virginia coincided with a difficult phase in his life. He was an easy target for bullies at school, and his self-confidence dwindled with each passing day. However, John, with his kind heart and unwavering support, came to David's rescue. Recognizing his potential, John decided to mentor David and transform him into a skilled baseball player.

Countless hours were spent honing David's skills in the game they both loved. John's family, being well-off, had a sprawling backyard where they practiced their swings and catches. As the years rolled by, the boys became inseparable, creating cherished memories that would last a lifetime.

But fate had a cruel twist in store for the friends. One day, David's phone rang, and to his horror, it displayed John's number. Panic surged through his veins as he answered the call, only to be met with John's voice, filled with desperation and fear. John claimed that he had been kidnapped and demanded a staggering sum of 1 million dollars for his release.

Shaken to the core, David couldn't fathom the idea of his closest friend in mortal danger. Determined to save John's life, he made a heart-wrenching decision. David sold a precious necklace worth $500,000, intended as a gift for his mother, and reached out to his other friends for financial assistance. Together, they managed to gather the demanded ransom money.

As David received the kidnappers' bank account details, a flicker of doubt ignited within him. The weight of the situation urged him to verify the account before proceeding with the transfer. Cutting the call, he decided to use his UPI to cross-check the details. In a state of trepidation, he dialed John's number once again.

To his astonishment, John himself answered the call, his voice calm and collected. The anguish that had filled David's heart moments ago was replaced by confusion. How was this possible? David mustered the courage to inquire about John's whereabouts, only to hear John casually reveal that he was in his own room in a nearby apartment.

Overwhelmed with a mix of relief, disbelief, and frustration, David rushed to the apartment, desperate to confirm whether it was a cruel joke or a miraculous turn of events. As he entered the room, his eyes locked with John's smiling face. It was all real—John was safe and sound.

He couldnt believe what happened three hours ago, so he quickly checked for the call logs, and to his surprise the call was made exactly at that hour, he usually records his calls, and schockingly he found the recording of john screaming for help and kidnappers demanding money.

This is when David realised everything that happened was real and for real.

Shock washed over David as the gravity of the situation sank in. He realized that he had narrowly escaped falling victim to a scam. The relief of finding his friend safe was now overshadowed by the realization that he had nearly been deceived out of a substantial amount of money.

The weight of the situation bore down on David's shoulders, and he felt a mix of emotions—anger at the audacity of the kidnappers, gratitude for John's escape, and a deep sense of vulnerability for nearly falling into their trap.
