The next morning, James felt refreshed. It was a brand-new day. He loves the fact that he never knows what's around the corner. James was sitting typing away at his computer. In strolled Stewart, walking into the office as if he proud of himself for something none of us knew about. James had already made the morning trip to the local coffee house and had Stewart coffee order ready for him arriving.

“Morning mate” said Stewart

“Good morning to you too, I have been in for the past hour trying to look more into this case, so I sent away for his financials”

“Should I be sitting down for this” asked Stewart intriguingly

“Stephen Clarke was heavily in debt to 3 people. One named Isma Atai, Alana Durrani”

“I thought you said there was a third” questioned Mason

A smile rose upon James’ face. “Keith Golder has a record, total of 7 years imprisonment for Grievous Bodily Harm and Assault with a deadly weapon… The best part, that the deadly weapon was a spanner…”

“Let’s go pick him up” replied Stewart as he put on his jacket again and walked with James briskly out the door.

As they got to the suspects address at 38 York Place and knocked on the door. They focussed themselves into finding the killer. As Keith opened the door, both Stewart and James angled their heads upwards. Keith was a 6 foot 5 inches tall male with balding brown hair and very muscular.

“Keith Golder” queried Det Mason

“Who’s asking” replied Mr Golder

“Detectives Stewart Mason and James Scott, Metropolitan Police Homicide Department”

They continued with “Can we come in and ask you some questions” Asked James

“Yeah why not” Keith replied under his breath with a hint of sarcasm

As they made their way through to his living room, Detective Scott reached into his inside jacket pocket and pulled out a photograph of the victim

“Have you ever seen this man before, Mr Golder?” questioned Detective Scott

“No. I haven’t” said Golder as he did not even glance or look closely at the picture

This sent alarm bells for the detectives as if Mr. Golder was not interested or he had something to hide in this case

“Can you take a look at this closely please. It’s important” said Detective Scott

Keith took a quick glance at the photograph and then a somewhat smile arose on his face.

“No I haven’t seen him before in my life” replied Keith with a somewhat distracted and also replied too quickly to show to the detectives that he had somewhere else to be

He tapped the photograph and the palm of his hand to think of more questions for Mr. Golder.

“Have you ever heard of either Alana Durrani or Isma Atai” queried James

“Yeah, Mrs Durrani owns a lap dancing club and Mrs Atai has one on Nicolson Street but I can’t remember where Mrs Durrani owns her bookies ”

“He put the photograph back into his pocket, turned to his Detective Mason and back at Mr. Golder

“I think that is all for now. Don’t skip town. We will need to speak to you again”

A huffing Golder replied “Yeah fine”. It sounded like he just wanted James and Stewart to leave quicker

As the two detectives left the building they looked back up at his flat window and saw him looking down at them

Detective Mason looks at Detective Scott and queried “Didn’t you say that there were two more people that Stephen Duncan owed money too… Isma Atai and Alana Durrani?”

“Yeah, let’s go speak to the first one. Isma Atai. 35 years old. Co-owner of a Lap Dancing Club called ‘Teasers’. 59 Nicolson Street. Previous work on file was working at Ms Durrani’s Bookies called ‘DuranniBet’. Financial report was done on Ms Atai. Clean record and is not short on cash. By my calculations, she brings in around £300,000 into the business every month. The one month where that figure changes is the Grand National Weekend where she brings in around £500,000 that month” quoted Detective Scott looking at his notebook

They got into their car and drove steadily through the streets of Edinburgh. The traffic started to build up and, knowing the city of Edinburgh, the traffic lights were murder as they were taking forever to change. As they crossed North Bridge, there were minor road works in progress right outside The Edinburgh Playhouse. They drove up towards the location of the strip club and pulled into the side of the road to park. The two detectives leaned forward and looked through the windshield and looked upon the location. Stewart looked at James with a look of worry. He turned his body in the drivers’ seat and said to James “When we get in to the club, we have to be professional. You cannot get distracted by the woman dancing on the poles!!”
