Get to know my True Crime Podcast "Innocent or Guilty: The Chanel Lewis Case"

I am working on a true crime podcast called “Innocent or Guilty: The Chanel Lewis case” and here’s what you need to know about this podcast:

August 2, 2016

It started off as an ordinary afternoon in Queens, New York. Thirty-year-old Karina Anne Vetrano, a bright smile and beautiful young woman steps out to go for a jog. Karina is dressed in her black sports bra and black jogging shorts. Karina loved to jog and has a career as a special education teacher. Karina usually jogs with her father Phillip Vetrano, a retired firefighter. Unfortunately Phillip suffered a back injury couldn’t jog and had to stay home and heal his injury. Vetrano heads to the door but Phillip insisted that she should stay.

Karina said to her father:

“It’s ok, Daddy, I’ll be alright.”

Phillip lets her go. Karina leaves and goes on her run. At the a surveillance footage caught Karina jogging through the trail.

It was the last moment Vetrano seen alive.

After failing to return home, Karina's father grew concern on Karina's whereabouts, he asked his neighbor who is a New York police chief launched on a search until...At 11 pm, Karina's father found the body of his daughter faced down.

Karina was murdered.

Since her murder, police and Karina’s families have been desperately searching hard to find her murderer until a 911 caller called on a suspicious hooded young man wandering the area. Kind of similar the way George Zimmerman when he described Trayvon Martin when he was walking on his way home before his life was taken by him. Police arrested 20-year-old African American Chanel Lewis was arrested. After Chanel Lewis "confessing" that he is responsible for her murder and some trace of Vetrano’s DNA linked on Lewis. Lewis was charged for murder for Karina Vetrano. At the trail, Chanel was found guilty for the murder and rape of Karina Vetrano. Vetrano’s family praised and cheered the verdicts decision. However, Chanel Lewis and his families insisted that he is innocent and that the evidence was tampered. How could this be so????According to ABC News, Veta Lewis, mother of Chanel Lewis, sat down with his and community activists pleading for his son's innocence, she believes he was taking advantage because of his race and believes the confession was coerced just the way they did to the central park five teens.

But is he really innocent? Or is he guilty of his action? Is this another young man being coerced by the police? What you need to know about the podcast?

In my podcast, Innocent or Guilty: The Chanel Lewis case, I will dive in and investigate the whole case, interview with both families or any one close with them and share my opinion whether the verdict was wrong or right about Chanel Lewis.

After this whole murder case, it got me the idea to start a podcast. After reviewing the whole murder case,watching the news, hearing Lewis’s words from the confession, the trial and etc.
