Ephemera EphemeRAMya
A scrapbooking Set Up

Daylon Travens was known as being one of the few men around who enjoyed scrapbooking. He joined the ladies for more floral and cute pages, but many of his works included gathering the ephemera associated with what project he was working on at the moment and journaling this accordingly. It gave the masculine flare to scrapbooking that was not seen much before. Some of the people in the scrapbooking groups could be ladies who were tomboys and those who did not associate with a particular gender giving a more in the middle not quite so feminine variety of pages, but Daylon's was many times as masculine as most pages could get.
His scrapbooking friends came to bring him flowers while he was in the hospital in pain and not fully being able to recollect what had fully happened a bit before he ended up there. Apparently per his scrapbook page, he had been working on a project to create a motorized sofa bed. There was always furniture races in the neighborhood and Daylon wanted to figure out a way to have the fastest one by researching different couches and beds. He was looking at the shape and materials and had decided combining the couch and bed aspect together was the best idea.
He then started working on a way to build a fast motor and then after that: no recall of what happened. Had he started the motor and walked off? Had the switch turned on by itself? All we know is the sofa bed came rocket flying right at him and rammed him down onto the pavement. His neighbors found him lying there and called the ambulance. I as his best friend went into his house and pulled out his scrapbook to show what he was working on. He had many pages showing little slot cars he made mini motors for, a building of a gazebo, and ephemera used to glue down a plan to build a playground that was indoors. Daylon was an engineer with a good bit of money saved up so he had bought land and a glass building to make the indoor playground and keep AC running in the place. He also had plans to add a few contraptions in there for adults to enjoy too.
As a single straight known man, he had captured the attention of all of the ladies in the neighborhood. One in particular who had my heart named Velveteen. I had been trying to ask her out for a while now but she was always so swooned by Daylon. "He has not one bit of toxic masculinity in him. He doesn't care if anyone calls him feminine for scrapbooking. He does the best handiwork, what a craftsman!" she would swoon. Of course I had to do all I could to try and win that furniture street race against him. All the work I was doing and I came across his plans of picking a very particular sofa bed to use with an elaborate motor plan for the greatest speed to win. That is why I had to hit that switch of his motor and point the wheels at him when he wasn't looking and run.
How could he work on that project anymore if he is hurt? Him healing would be more important than that race. I need this win so much more for the sake of Velveteen. Everyone will just say it was a freak accident and that is how I will categorize it in my mind in order to not feel guilty. "Hey Daylon, feeling better?" I asked him.
"Yeah. I am so glad that sofa bed hit me and not a bunch of people at the race. I would feel so guilty if that happened on my watch. Didn't pay attention enough in my work I guess," he replied.
"Yeah, weird because you are usually such a good mechanic," I nod.
"Everyone makes mistakes every once in a while, I am not perfect," he shrugs. I set the best wishes balloons down and set out to take the motor from the thrown out sofa bed.
