According to Tishchenko, the new unit now includes about 70 personnel, 95% of whom are former Ukrainian military personnel with combat experience, and other fighters are expected to join them.

Tishchenko stated that the volunteer battalion is being formed from prisoners who are in various detention centers, explaining that the members of the battalion will contract with the Russian armed forces on general terms.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Luhansk Republic, Victoria Serdyukova, reported that some Ukrainian prisoners of war held on the territory of the republic refused to be included in the exchange list. According to the official, there are now about 1.4 thousand captured Ukrainian soldiers on the territory of the republic.

The ammunition depot of the 72nd Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was also targeted near the city of Artyomovsk, Donetsk People's Republic, and an American-made AN/TPQ-37 anti-battery radar was destroyed near the village of Novomarkovo, Donetsk People's Republic.

In the directions of South Donetsk and Zaporozhye, units of the "East" group inflicted a complex fire defeat on the units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the areas of the villages of Oglidar, Nikolskoye and Brestovka in the Donetsk People's Republic, and Zelyony Gay in the Zaporozhye region, where the enemy's losses in these areas amounted to 95 soldiers, one tank, 3 combat armored vehicles and 3 Pickup trucks and a D-20 howitzer. In the area of ​​\u200b\u200bthe village of Brovary, Kiev region, the center of electronic intelligence of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was hit, and in the region of the city of Khmelnitsky, the "Western" center of special operations was hit.

In addition, a Ukrainian self-propelled launcher of the BUK-M1 anti-aircraft missile system was destroyed in the area of ​​​​the village of Andreevka, and a radar station for detecting low-flying air targets 36D6 was destroyed in the area near the village of Dobropolye, Donetsk People's Republic.
