Interview with Doctor…

Doctor: Hi! Can you tell me your name?

Billy: David.

Doctor: Are you sure? Here, it said you are William (Billy) Milligan. Is this your ID card?

Billy: No. I already told you. That’s not me. And, I don’t have any ID cards.

Doctor: So, who is this man? (He showed the ID card of Billy)

Billy: That’s Billy and he is sleeping.

Doctor: Where’s he sleeping?

Billy: Here! (By pointing the middle of his chest).

Doctor: Well, I would like to have a talk with Billy. Can you call Billy, David?

Billy: No. I can’t. no, no.. . I can’t do it without the permission of Arthur. If I do, he will kill himself.

(He shouted with a trace of terror in his voice. Then, he started weeping like a child).

During the interview, Billy, who stated himself as David, was continuously biting his nails. After the examination, the doctor concluded that according to the way he talked and his actions, David must be a child around 8 or 9 years old.

After a while of their interview, David stayed still with his head hanging down and staring but his mouth seemed like murmuring something.

After that short moment, Billy became conscious again.

Meeting with Arthur...

This time, the person inside Billy was Arthur who considered himself as an educated British gentleman. Arthur mentioned that he was interested in science and medical literature, specifically hematology. And he had to wear glasses since he was farsighted. Arthur seemed like he was the leader of the minds inside Billy. So, the doctors requested Arthur to wake Billy to understand what kinds of horrible childhood traumas he had to go through. In the beginning, Arthur refused to wake up Billy and he said in order to wake him up, we would need the agreement from all the minds inside him.

After changing several characters, the doctors got the chance to speak with another important character named Allen. Allen was a very friendly man. He was also the only character who was right handed and also smoked cigarettes. He loved playing drums and was really talented at painting portraits. Actually, Allen is the one who mentioned to the doctors that deep inside Billy, there was a dark place where all the minds lived and Arthur was the one who lived in the spot and he was the one who mainly decided what character to go through. The characters that Arthur didn’t like were mostly suppressed and hardly came out.

Well, after some time, once Billy was having a meeting with his lawyers, another important character named Ragen came out. Ragen described himself as color blinded Yugoslavian, and had a Slavic accent. He usually came out to protect Billy from dangerous events. He admitted committing robbery in order to support "the family - the minds inside Billy", but had no knowledge of the rapes.

But later, the psychiatrists found out that Ragen was just protecting another character, Kelvin. Kelvin had the ability and mindset to plan crimes properly among other characters. And, Adalana was the one who committed the rapes without the knowledge of other charcaters.

When Ragen left the house to find some money since Billy had no income to support himself, the character, Adalana, came out and r*ped the victims. As soon as she finished, Kelvin came out and robbed. After that, he changed into Ragen, who covered up the crimes that Kelvin and Adalana committed. Then, Tommy, “the escape artist”, is the one who used up all the money robbed. And then, again, Billy was running out of money and another crime happened again.

Also, the doctors believed that Tommy must be the one who broke the handcrafts and also, tried to escape from tying up during the prison.

Well, after a really long interview with several psychiatrists, finally, Dr. Dorothy Turner concluded that Billy (William) Milligan was suffering from DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder).

DID is a mental condition which is mainly caused by the horrible and repetitive traumas in one’s early childhood. A person suffering from DID developed multiple characters with different personalities and abilities inside him even without his conscious mind to prevent him from the traumatic events and protect from further danger.

Well, in another article, we will find out what other characters that Billy possessed and why these characters came out.
