Why We're Trapped On The 'Reincarnation Wheel'

And how to free ourselves from it

We're all born vulnerable.

We all grow up, slowly, having to learn along the way.

Most of our influences and teachers are often as lost as we are.

We don't always get the privilege to learn about ourselves early enough.

Schools don't teach us how to deal with adversity.

But we try.

We throw a punch or two, figuratively speaking.

It doesn't always solve our problems though.

Most of the time.

It only makes things worse.

We leave the 'ring' like a wounded wolf.

With the moon as our only audience while we howl.

But we come back at it.

Resilience is born from our scars.

The skin is thicker.

We're after those who hurt us.

We're vivid.

We win.

The taste of blood rips us apart.

A portal is opened.

There's no going back once we go through it.

It's the point of no return.

But we won, right?

We're fearless.

We do it.

We become ruthless.

Some people now fear us, others look up to us.

It reinforces our beliefs, our confidence.

We feel powerful.

Suddenly, our actions are justified.

It's just business.

It's the law of the jungle.

It's survival of the fittest.

We conquer. We earn. We possess.

We experience everything life has to offer.

Our confidence turns into arrogance.

We might be gods after all.

We do whatever we want.

Each experience makes us more demanding.

We want it exotic.

We develop bizarre tastes.

Our needs turn into addictions.

We crave stimulation.

Our bodies are pushed to their limits.

The world can't give us what we need.

We become unsatisfied.

We become bored. Frustrated.

Everything becomes a reason to get angry.

Our frustration seems to be about others.

But we're frustrated with ourselves.

We're still that wounded wolf.

We kept moving because we were fueled by our past.

We want to prove our superiority at all costs.

We can't accept being seen for what we are.

We try to hide.

But our actions expose the facts.

We're little. We're petty. We're miserable.

We've taken ourselves too seriously.

We've justified our 'sins' with our past.

Others' approval gave us the permission to be our worst version.

Our story, our misery, our coldness, our age - we call wisdom.

Being hit by life didn't make us any better.

It made us worse.

We have so much yet it's never enough.

We have so much yet we can't share it.

We crave intimacy, love, honesty - but we can't trust anyone.

Our motto is the law of the jungle.

We closed ourselves.

We believe so much in our beliefs because we've got nothing else.

We're stuck, and we keep repeating what makes us miserable.

We reincarnate. Over and over again.

What keeps us awake is our poor health and how fast we're aging.

But also the continuity of everything we've built.

Because it's the only thing that gives meaning to our meaningless existence.

We busy ourselves with illusions.

We're deluded by our arrogance.

And when the time comes.

Everything we so dearly craved is removed from our life.

One. By. One.

Our children don't meet our expectations.

Our romantic partner betrays us.

Our legacy is forgotten. Destroyed.

Our presence, eradicated.

Our absence, celebrated.

Suffering is not supposed to make us worst as human beings.

Suffering doesn't give us the right to be right.

Suffering doesn't mean we're wise.

Wisdom cannot be, with pride.

We all have different lives and experiences.

We all have different ideals and aspirations.

We all accomplish different things.

Some of those are remarkable.

Most of them are modest.

But no matter what the content of our life is.

We're all born vulnerable.

And we all have to learn along the way.

It's part of this earthly experience, to be vulnerable.

To be embarrassed, ashamed, hurt.

To win, feel strong, and also hurt.

Creating a story out of our experiences is the trap.

Getting attached to emotional episodes is the trap.

Doing so turns us from formless experiencers to deluded players.

We carry too much weight.

We become heavy.

We take ourselves too seriously.

Our health is affected.

We've closed ourselves to life.

We've built so many barriers to protect ourselves that it isolated us.

No one can enter anymore.

We're disconnected from everything.

Those very things that kept us alive and fulfilled.

This intimacy with life nothing can buy.

Not the wealth of the world, not any accomplishment.

But only this same vulnerability we once came with.

Wisdom is not bitterness, isolation, disconnection.

Wisdom is not thickness, densification, seriousness.

Wisdom is openness, lightness, vulnerability.

Wisdom is the ability to keep going, to learn along the way, despite suffering.

Wisdom is courage.

Wisdom is firmly stating to life…

No matter what you throw at me…

I'll keep being the best possible human being.

Wisdom is humbleness.

The humbleness to laugh at ourselves, to know we can't always be right.

And suffering is just a wake up call, an invitation to growth.

No one or nothing is against us.

Quite the opposite.

Life supports us.

We are this life.

And knowing this from our guts is wisdom.

Allowing life to manifest and unfold itself completely.

While paying attention, and learning from every experience.

This is how we free ourselves.
