I just saw you frown at a Muslim girl wearing a hijab. With a second thought, you begin to judge and criticize, such a young girl forced to wear that thing on her head, forced to stay away from so many entertainments that normal teens engage in. The best she can acquire in education is a high school diploma, perhaps, and then she'll be forced to marry a guy with a beard.

Wait!

Are you sure this is the case? Is that really what you think?

How did you get this information? You have a lot of answers, you tell me. The news on the TV, your next-door neighbor, the media, the list is endless. But, did it ever occur to you if all this is really true? Of course not, you say, it's completely obvious. These oppressed women have no rights in their religion. We should do something about it.

You are right and wrong. Right because we should do something about it. Wrong because everything else you thought was lies. The internet brainwashed you! The TV is a lie and the media is a lie. They only create stereotypes to attack that poor hijab girl, encouraging the world to do the same. Encouraging the world to oppress her with their sadistic words, and snatch her hijab away with their painful, heart-crushing words.

You can have a laugh and say no way, but if you really like a false accusation because of its bittersweet taste, so be it.

You probably don't even care to know that in this religion, women are treated as equal to any man. That Islam appearance actually helped stop the oppression of women. That the first person that accepted Islam had the honour of being a woman, and the first one to be killed for the sake of Islam was also a woman. One of the earliest and best scholars was also a woman. It was a woman who had helped the prophet in the cave and it was his wife that comforted him on the night of First Revelation descended.

You've never heard of this before, have you?

Go out there and research. Do it yourself. Go check out the Holy Quran and read the translation, our Muslim scholars are ready to help. Please, don't let yourself get brainwashed by the media anymore.

It's about time people stop lamenting over the news. I tell you; the media detorts the truth with its cunning and deceiving pictures and articles. And you know that, don't you?

So, tell me, why is Islam the fastest-growing religion in the world, which even rappers are accepting? Why is a Muslim woman wearing a scarf considered oppressed and a Christian nun with the same exact clothing not? Why is it odd and embarrassing to see a woman fully covered and completely normal to see a woman naked? Why is it fun to prove that Islam is a synonym for terrorism, while you feel uncomfortable when you don't understand your faith?

Let me tell you, that girl you see with a hijab has a bright future ahead. She'll not only get a high school diploma but also achieve the highest degree in university. She'll one day be a doctor, nurse, or teacher. She'll be someone really big with a nice loving soulmate. Don't crush her soul. It's precious like any other girl. She loves to wear the hijab, so understand her. Learn more about her religion and just leave her alone.

Please, think before you speak. Celebrate differences. Make sure everything you hear, see, and think about is authentic. Never judge a person, whether they show only their eyes or their entire body. It's a huge world, go make friends. Never hurt a soul. Don't ruin someone's world. Go out and research from the right and pure sources. Interview educated Muslims. Learn more about us and our religion. Know the truth, and don't shove it aside. And believe me, you can have it.
