Unleash the Power Within: Think Big

SOS -Start out Specific

Set a goal so big that you can't achieve it so that you can grow into someone who can.

Everything that exists first starts with a vision. Scientists set "conquer space" as a goal; medical discoveries, inventions big and small, you name it. It began as a thought. A whisper inside you intrigued you to be here now, reading my blog today. There are no accidental discoveries. Dreams that take immediate action from crystal clear intentions get results.

A goal is more than a wishful state of mind. Plans should be straightforward and specific, "This is what I am working toward." Without ambition and goals, individuals would wander through life. They never get to a destination because they didn't set one. Could you imagine going on a long road trip with no directions somewhere you have never been? Impossible, maybe even miserable.

Goals are essential to our lives, the way air is necessary to breathe. Who has stumbled into success without one? Get a fix on exactly where you want to go. Who is with you? Imagine the joy of watching your bank account hit that magic number you've been dreaming about your entire life. What are you doing, Screaming, jumping for joy? Feel it deep within your bones and set that intention.

The important thing is where you are and where you were. Focus on where you want to go. I took the driver's education course; the instructor said, "Eyes on the road." He did not mean the pavement in front of me. What he meant to say was as far down as I could see. Seeing a deer on the road allows time to plan. Seeing a collision can help steer us into the right lane to avoid potential catastrophes. Am I right?

Executives of top leading companies must ask, "Where do we want our company to be in 10 years from now?" They have a way of thinking BIG, continually expanding, and never giving up the actions necessary to make their vision a reality. Trial and error are not cutting it! With a dozen interviews and a hundred applications to various places, the odds of finding the right choice is a needle in a haystack. We've all been there, searching for why we weren't arriving at our destination. Isn't effort all it takes? I'm afraid not.

I just recently had to decide what it would mean to be successful. Where did I see myself in 10 years? I love helping people. I wanted to find a career that connected me with people and changed lives. Your talents, skills, and abilities are your "products" to sell. You want to develop your products so that they can be of service and demand the highest possible price. So Plan!

Here are two steps that will help.

First, close your eyes and imagine your future in 3 sections: work, home, and social. Physically writing goals down on paper allows us to see the whole picture.

Second, establish clear, detailed answers to these questions: What do I want to achieve? Who do I want to be? What does it take for me to feel fulfilled?

A. Work Department: 10 years from now:

How much income do I desire?

What level of responsibility?

Do I want to be in charge?

What type of reputation do I want?

B. Home Department: 10 years from now:

What lifestyle do I want to provide for my family and myself?

In what kind of home do I want to reside?

What kind of vacations will I be taking?

What financial support can I give my children in their early adult years?

C. Social Department: 10 years from now:

What type of friends do I want to have?

What social groups would interest me?

What community leadership positions would I like?

What causes will I support?

As you visualize your future, go big or go home. More significant, the better in this case. Let this be your blueprint. No one can accomplish more than one sets out to accomplish. So think BIG!

Significant thinking has been a game-changer for me and many celebrities' lives. Oprah Winfrey is a perfect example. She came from humble beginnings and faced many challenges but refused to settle for less than she desired. She believed in herself and her abilities and dreamed of a better life. Her mindset of thinking big has transformed her into one of the world's most successful talk show hosts, media moguls, and philanthropists.

Another celebrity who has experienced the power of thinking big is Will Smith. He started his career as a rapper and transitioned into acting, becoming one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood. Will Smith believes in the limitless possibilities of life and isn't afraid to take risks. He said, "The first step before anyone else in the world believes it is you have to believe it."

Dwayne, "The Rock" Johnson's journey to success is also a testimony to the fantastic benefits of thinking big. He had a troubled childhood and faced many obstacles to becoming a pro wrestler, actor, and producer. Johnson believes that you can achieve anything you desire if you have the right mindset. He once said, "Success isn't always about greatness. It's about consistency. Consistent hard work leads to success. Greatness will come." These celebrities inspire us to relinquish our limiting beliefs and aim for the highest possibilities.

"Climbing the highest mountain begins with the audacious belief that you are meant to conquer summits. Unleash the power within, set your sights on the extraordinary, and watch as your big goals and bold dreams transform into reality."
