The Boy She Fell For That I Wasn't
When I was 14, I had a secret online profile nobody knew about. I often thought to myself, "I wish I had been born a boy." I would have likely been labeled as transgender if society had known more about it back then. I was often already confused for a boy. My hair was short, and my figure hadn't femininely blossomed. I did typical guy things, and many of my friends forgot I was a girl. I "crossplayed" more than cosplayed, and my family was frequently frustrated about my male costumes and fashion choices. I didn't care. That was what I liked. If I wanted to look like a boy, then let me. What did it hurt?

C.S. A story of a girl who believed in his words, not his actions.
This is a story of when one guarded girl let’s her guard down, and why most of the time guarded girls put them right back up with walls higher than before. We know that letting down your guard and being vulnerable is one of the most important things to do as a human, but rejection also keeps us from ever wanting to be in that situation.

Our Best Ever Sex Happened During the COVID Lockdown
Our love story started 7 years ago in the sinusoidal world of the software consulting industry. We were both young, brash, and full of beans and we struck off immediately. That, I was almost giving competition to Adonis and she to Aphrodite added fuel to the passionate fire already burning within us.

First Date
I felt the excitement fill my veins as I brushed off the wrinkles on my floral top. I slammed the door to my black Honda Civic, flipped my long dark straight hair, and paced through the parking lot towards the entrance. As my feet hit the pavement one step faster than the other, shaking out my hands, I could not believe I was about to go on my first date with him.

The Perfect date
Will I be single for the rest of my life?! I said over dramatically as I flopped down on my queen sized mattress with plush sheets the color of lilac. Just as I was giving up on finding “true love” I received a notification on my iPhone 7. I read the notification, “It’s from tinder!” I said excitedly. As opened the app to see that I had been liked by a handsome man named Harley. “Huh coincidence that his name is also the name I would name my son if I ever have one.” “I’ll message him and just say hi.”

The Promise of Tomorrow
Janelle glanced at her phone for the third time to make sure she found the right restaurant. The location was odd- it was nestled among single family homes in a neighborhood full of overgrown oak trees. As she walked up to the patio, she saw the man she presumed was her date. He told her he would be wearing a dark sweater and glasses. Her friend who knew him from work told her he was tall. He was also the only person sitting alone at a table. As she approached, he looked up from his phone and put it in his pocket.

Funny Sexy Times
He was hilarious. Just a natural-born comedian, he consistently made my cheeks ache from laughter. I had my funny moments too. Because of that, we connected immediately. I looked forward to seeing him when I arrived at my internship and eagerly anticipated our entertaining lunches together. His humor made me feel good, and who doesn’t want to feel good?

Dream Date?
My mother reminds me regularly that I’m getting older and can’t afford to be so picky when it comes to a life partner. “You’ll end up on the shelf”. Of course I know what she means but I’m always tempted to remark, “Shelf, what shelf? Is it solid wood, veneer or plastic?”

I Read My Boyfriend’s Messages and Never Told Him. Top Story - March 2021.
When I first met my boyfriend, we became acquainted in a dimly lit room at Diva Haunt. Diva Haunt is a sectioned up haunted house that we both inadvertently decided to volunteer at for fun. The building was an old ballerina studio, so it was already a little creepy on its own. He was 28 and I was 22 at the time. I didn’t really find this age difference a problem.
