My first roller coaster was Goliath Six Flags

My First Coaster

Little 10 year old me heads to six flags with my cousins. My aunt and cousin automatically beeline for the Goliath, the biggest coaster in the park. Little me who has never been on a coaster before is tall enough at least to ride so I just walk right up there with them. I don't really understand about the ride until I am on it clicking up and yikes was it horrifying! So high up looking over and when it released I felt like I was going way too fast with the wind hurting my eyes I have to squeeze them.

It was a 200ft drop!?

We get off and then make our way to the mindbender which is smaller but goes upsidedown. That one didn't feel as wild though. When I get back home I look up what I had gotten myself into by following them. The ride was newer when I went so they were trying to go ahead and get on before the line became long, but they sure dragged me right away to a huge 200ft drop coaster. Riding that first made me believe they would all be that intense making my heart feel like it was in my throat, but no. They can be pretty tame and slower. I enjoyed some of the other rollercoasters there after that and a rapids ride.

Dollywood Coasters

After that I went back there a few times but mostly traded up for going to Dollywood. The coaster they have there before getting the big wild eagle ride is the Tennessee tornado. The first drop is pretty intense leading into loops, but of course still not Goliath. The eagle ride is a bit closer to being big but still not reaching 200 ft like Goliath. I usually like to hit up other rides and mostly avoid Goliath and Superman. The last time I went I rode both though thinking it will be better because I am an adult now but oh my! It was still pretty extraordinarily intense feeling.

Velocicoaster takes the new spot!

The news of someone passing away recently falling from the Goliath is horrific. Many rollercoasters make you feel pushed back into your seat, but Goliath definitely bumps you flying up from the seat. The only other roller coaster with the same horrifying bunny hop experience is stardust racers at Universal. The ride that I have ridden lately that final actually topped Goliath and Superman for being a wild ride is Velocicoaster. That ride will have you flipping around every which way. We were even warned to tuck our lanyards into our shirt or else it would fly off. People with big necklaces were told they might want to take them off because they will most definitely be smacked in the face.

Water Coasters

Many amusement parks visits made me realize what my favorite type of ride is, though. The coaster water ride hybrid is my absolute favorite. Ripsaw falls at universal and any boat log splash drop chute ride is the best. I enjoy how the water levels determine the speed instead of an exactness every time. I am excited Dollywood now has a ride like this Nightflight Expedition. This ride creates the feeling of white water rafting with a story adventure included! I will definitely try to make plans to visit the last coaster Dolly got to launch while she was alive.

Fire Coasters

Of course I love the opposite element of fire too, Dollywood has one of my favorite rides called Blazing fury, a fire station ride, and fire elements within the mystery mine coaster. The only coaster with a fire element at universal was the mummy ride. Frankenstein had electricity at least, and the Harry Potter dragon breathes fire but it is not apart of a ride. There was a ride dragon that was supposed to breathe fire but I guess maintenance is due because it only spewed a tiny bit of smoke and that's it. Made the scary dragon become so silly!
