β A Teacherβs Warning: Respect Your Students orΒ Die

I was a professor at a university for over 30 years, and I loved my students, and often they loved my classes. Even if they didnβt care for my topics, they took me several times. I have a perfect score on RateMyProfessor.com. Well I did, then my cancer came, and I struggled in pain to teach. . . .
Many of my students are my friends for lifeΒ now. Some even earned a PhD. and are teaching. Love to you all.
β #1 Rule of the Heart: Respect AllΒ Women!
All teachers have memories of that unique person who was the best student ever. I have one rule that I feel is sacred: never sleep with a student.Β
Many of my female students tried to seduce me with nice gifts and sexy clothes and accidentally rubbed up against me. It neverΒ worked.
Then there was Sheila. That is not her real name, but she had an angelic spirit and the highest intellect ever. I feel blessed to have known her.Β
She had one flaw, for she did poorly on tests. I do, too, so I never give tests. Instead, I gave longer research assignments, and she loved myΒ classes.
Sheila told me she needed to pass a class to graduate and that she worried she would fail. She wanted to be a lawyer oneΒ day.
She often came to my office to ask for advice on how to research better. |She was the most attractive student I ever had in multiple ways, and she overdressed for school like she was an executive. I respected that.
More importantly, she loved to read, write, and research.Β
Indeed, she was an amazing scholar. Furthermore, I could tell she had a huge crush on me. Once, when I was looking at her paper, and she was sitting by my side in my office, I noticed that she wasnβt listening, just staring atΒ me.
She was trying to smell me. She put her face inches from myΒ face.Β
I could sense she wanted to kiss me. She almost did. I cleared my throat, moved my face a safe distance away, and repeated my advice about how to revise the paper. She snapped out of it and nodded her headΒ yes.
Then she said, βI have a confession to make. Can you shut theΒ door?β
I did, and I thought she would tell me she loved me.Β
Instead, she told me that another professor had sexually abused her.Β She didnβt report it because she needed to take that professor for more classes to graduate.Β I told her she needed to report this and that I would supportΒ her.
She looked down and started to cry. I reached over to hug her.Β
Then the impossible happened, for she kissed me, and I was stunned.Β
No student had ever kissed me. I know how to fight.Β
I am Bruce Lee in my mind. I was shocked, and I told her in a stern voice that she would never kiss meΒ again.
Sadly, she never pressed charges. A year passed, and I learned about a tragedy and closed my office door to cry, for Sheila had committed suicide. I called her brother, because he had been my student too, and I knew her family. Her brother confided in me that she started taking drugs to survive the stress of taking tests and overdosed.
I went to the funeral, and they asked me to speak, I accepted. I told them she was the best student I ever had and why.Β
In my heart, I miss her so much, and I still visit her Facebook page and look at her pictures and tear up for this amazing, beautiful angel ofΒ light.
One day I was walking in the hallway and bumped into the professor she said sexually abused her. I had my revenge mask on to kill, he stopped and looked worried. I woke up and said, βOh, I donβt feel well today.βΒ
The professor smiled, moved on, and wished me well. I let himΒ live.
In my heart, I know that Sheila committed suicide because she could not overcome the nightmares that haunted her from the sexual abuse of being touched by such an ugly demon who pretended to be a professor.
β Thank you for reading!
I have retired from teaching because of my disabilities from cancer. I wish everyone well, and I respect you with all my heart. I miss Sheila with all my heart.
Respect. Respect. Respect.
