On a clear Tuesday morning, September 11, 2001, two planes flew into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. The towers were the tallest buildings in New York City and had been a symbol of American pride and economic power since their completion in 1973.

At 8:46 AM, American Airlines Flight 11, a Boeing 767 aircraft, crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center, between floors 93 and 99. The impact caused a massive explosion and fireball, which engulfed the entire floor and spread to other floors of the building. The plane had been hijacked by five Al-Qaeda terrorists and flown into the tower as part of a coordinated attack on the United States.

The impact of the plane was devastating, causing the building to shake and creating a hole in the north tower that was over 100 feet wide. The people inside the building were stunned by the impact and the intense heat of the fire, which quickly spread through the building, fueled by jet fuel and other combustible materials. Many people on the upper floors of the north tower were trapped and unable to escape, and many others were injured or killed by falling debris.

As news of the attack spread, emergency crews rushed to the scene to begin rescue operations. Firefighters, police officers, and other first responders worked tirelessly to try and save those who were trapped inside the burning towers.

As people were trying to evacuate the building, United Airlines Flight 175, also a Boeing 767 aircraft, crashed into the south tower of the World Trade Center, between floors 77 and 85. The impact of the second plane was just as devastating as the first, causing a massive explosion and fireball that engulfed the entire floor and spread to other floors of the building.

The impact of the second plane caused the south tower to tilt and sway, and many people were trapped on the upper floors of the building. Many of the people trapped inside the building were trying to escape through the stairwells, but the intense heat and smoke made it difficult to breathe and navigate through the building.

As the situation at the World Trade Center became increasingly dire, officials made the decision to evacuate the entire area around the towers, including nearby buildings, streets, and subways. Thousands of people were forced to flee the area as the twin towers burned and collapsed.

At 9:59 AM, the south tower of the World Trade Center collapsed, sending a massive cloud of dust, debris, and smoke into the air. The collapse of the tower was devastating, and many people who were trapped inside the building were killed instantly.

Just 29 minutes later, at 10:28 AM, the north tower of the World Trade Center also collapsed, sending another massive cloud of dust and debris into the air. The collapse of the second tower was even more devastating than the first, and many people were killed or injured by falling debris and dust.

The attacks on the World Trade Center were part of a larger series of coordinated terrorist attacks on the United States, which included the hijacking of two other planes. One plane crashed into the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and another crashed into a field in Pennsylvania after passengers tried to retake control of the plane from the hijackers.

The attacks on September 11, 2001, were the deadliest terrorist attacks in U.S. history, and they had a profound impact on the country and the world. The attacks killed nearly 3,000 people, injured thousands more, and caused billions of dollars in damage to the World Trade Center and surrounding areas.

The attacks also had a lasting impact on U.S. foreign policy and security, leading to the war in Afghanistan and increased security measures at airports and other public spaces. The World Trade Center site has since been rebuilt,
