My life feels so hollow, a shell of my person.
Being a prince and soon king, an heir is so overwhelming and suffocating, people outside these walls think having everything handed to you in a gold platter is everything you could ever want.
In my opinion it’s “bullshit” as the humans say. The only escape from this place I get is burying myself in the old pile of human fictions about us and their way of life, it’s my most exciting activity of the day, I get to daydream about what having freedom feels like and plot my escape-
“My prince you’re being summoned by your king” a castle guard interrupted my thoughts.
“ hmm” I clear my throat “I’ll be there when I can” I reply and he leaves, knowing my father has a tendency of manifesting his stupidity, I should probably go see why he seeks me.
“For what do you need my presence father “... I say entering his palace
“You will speak to your father in a polite manner “ he says without giving me a room to reply he continues “meet Luna, daughter of Queen Luna and heir to throne”
“ it’s a pleasure to grace your presence my prince.” Luna says with a little curtsy, batting her artificial lashes like she has something in her eyes,
Don’t get me wrong she really pretty, she has red hair and the most pale skin tinted with a little too much artificial blush
“Named after your mother the queen?- and is there something wrong with your eyes do you need the doctor?” I ask starting to get concerned.
“Xavier the young lady is just simply being nice”
“Okay well it was nice to see you Luna, the king” I acknowledge with a little head nod “ if you will excuse me I have some... manly things to do for lack of better words “ and with that I take my leave.

Rain didn’t stop Mala. Swaddling for Edgar covered the baby boy’s body and she held her other son’s, Burton, six-year-old hand. The mud, muck, and mire didn’t hinder her from staying on course with her mission. From Pennsylvania, they all trekked to get closer and closer to land that was never promised but simply implied. Each step produced more mud caked around her sneakers. She didn’t care. Her rucksack provided them protein packs to put into plastic bottles and nuts and berries and dried meats to keep their muscles in good health. Water hydrated. She rested. The baby had been asleep the entire time that she had started her journey and her eldest son remained silent throughout the excursion as well.

Death is a black hole. Think about it. A black hole is the corpse of a star, something once warm and bright, now come to the end of its life cycle. But some will argue that the cycle of life does not end with death. That death is merely another path we must walk once our bodies expire and our souls ascend. In that moment, when the fuel in the star’s chemical tank hits empty and the shiny matte coat explodes into supernova, the mass left behind – the corpse – becomes a black hole. We understand that, around such a vast cadaver, dimensions work a little differently in death to the way we’re used to in life. For example, light cannot escape the pull of a black hole when it hits the point of no return. That’s where it gets its colour. Space itself is contorted by a black hole. That’s where it gets its funny shape. Even time. Time slows right down the closer you get to it. The closer you get to a black hole. The closer you get to death.
