The Power of Me
The beginning of my life and my childhood were not an ordinary one by most people’s standards, it started in a world far away from the place I live now and was raised. Guinea in Africa is where my parent’s happened to be as I made my entrance into this world, a place most people would consider different and exotic for parents with a European and Canadian background. Still, this is where we lived for the first few years of my life as my father’s career had brought us there and when we spent time traveling the world, living among, and visiting various cultures and communities which left me believing that this was what everyone did, that that was what life was all about. But I had a bit of a rude awakening once we stopped travelling and settled in a rural Canadian community, I realized rather quickly that most people are born and live within the same area most of their lives and only travel to different parts of the world as part their vacation if travel is not viewed as a luxury.

Silhouettes of Real Things
Grandpa Bernie died from a stroke in 1994. I was only three years old then so I don't have any memories of him. But there have been bits and pieces of him left behind that affected me as I got older. I have a stuffed rabbit and a picture of him handing it to me on my first Easter. I have stories of him and the kind of man he was that was told to me by my family. Most importantly, I have a book of poems he wrote which was published after he passed away.

Through Wardrobes
The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe - and actually the entire Narnia series - is one of the first full books I remember my parents reading to me, then reading and even re-reading the entire set to myself at a young age, and already thinking I must re-read again when I'd forgotten too much.

A Book that Changed Me: "Don't Ever Tell" by Kathy O'Beirne
I've read many fiction books in one sitting, but the moment I picked up this particular book, I couldn't put it down. I was around 11, about to turn 12, on my first trip to Thailand with my family. I noticed it on my parents' shelf and decided to bring it with me. However, it wasn't until the long journey to Mae Sot that I finally started reading it. The book was called “Don’t Ever Tell” by Kathy O’Beirne.

Less Than Nothing
Less than Nothing is my New Journey as a reader I had already some great laughs with it. I bought it some years ago together with another giant but as this one was the heaviest in a paper version and I remembered my vision was worser than now as I was stuck to the screen as of designing passion and studying some language courses online I was only able to sit with some books as a break late at night until my vision was going worser and I needed to take a break. So it wasn't even a question that I needed to wait for this one.

Lost My Way in the Darkness
In 2019, my interest in reading was rekindled after a lengthy hiatus, but I discovered that my thirst for short stories was greater than for full-length books. Hegel's Phenomenology of Spirit
This book is like a friend that I carry with through years, whenever I need support of a different kind of the psychological and more conscious awareness and understanding of the relation and communication in between human beings in this world and how to get out from the ones that are simply not healthy for us I tend to open the page in the middle of Hegel's book and here it is always answers to what I am struggling with or situations life put me in to deal with.
