Swati Sain’s Debut Book “माँ के आँचल से” Chronicles Heartfelt Stories

Jaipur-based author Swati Sain has recently made her mark in the literary world with her debut book titled “माँ के आँचल से” (From Mother’s Lap). The book, published by Gyanvriksha Publications, is a collection of poignant tales and anecdotes inspired by the author’s upbringing and experiences.

The inspiration behind Swati Sain’s literary endeavour is rooted deeply in her mother’s encouragement. “मेरी माँ हमेशा से चाहती थीं कि मेरी कहानियों को, मेरे क़िस्सों को एक किताब का रूप दिया जाए।” (My mother always wanted my stories, my anecdotes to be presented in the form of a book), shares Swati. Thus, the title of the book, “माँ के आँचल से,” symbolizes the nurturing environment of her childhood and the stories gathered from her mother’s world.

The journey to compile these stories wasn’t devoid of challenges. Many of these narratives were buried in the folders of Google Drive for a long time. However, Swati’s determination prevailed, and she finally decided to give them a tangible form in the shape of a book. Through “माँ के आँचल से,” Swati introduces readers to characters from her surroundings, inviting them to immerse themselves in relatable narratives.

Reflecting on her writing process, Swati expresses, “इस किताब में मैंने अपने आस-पास के क़िरदारों का परिचय दिला रही हूँ।” (In this book, I am introducing you to characters from my surroundings.) She acknowledges the uniqueness of each tale, devoid of any predetermined format. Each story in the book resonates with Swati’s personal experiences, allowing readers to connect on a profound level.

Born in Jaipur, Rajasthan, in 1995, Swati Sain holds degrees in BBA, M.Com (Finance and Economics), LLB, LLM, and Taxation Law Diploma. With a background in academia, including her tenure as an assistant professor at Mahatma Jyoti Rao Phoole University, Swati has nurtured her passion for storytelling since childhood. Over the past decade, she has meticulously documented these tales, culminating in the successful publication of her book in 2024.

Currently, Swati manages the “Sain Sisters” clothing venture alongside her elder sister Shivani in Jaipur. Despite her entrepreneurial pursuits, Swati remains committed to her literary aspirations and is already preparing for her next story collection.
