Book Stats: Uprooted written by Naomi Novik. Published on May 19, 2015.

Saturday morning finds me in the warm, cozy kitchen, sitting by the window with a book in hand while my mom cooks breakfast over the stove. This comforting scene fills my heart with affection.

My mom's humming provides a soothing backdrop as I immerse myself in the world of words. I finish before my mom completes cooking, so here I am sharing my opinion on the book with you.

Two words to describe this book: captivating and enchanting. The genre is fantasy, unfolding the story of Agnieszka, a young lady chosen to serve a powerful and mysterious wizard known as the Dragon.

The author has done a brilliant job in building the world to go along with the unfolding story. The story is set in a magical and dark world.

Regarding the themes in the book, I would say the main themes are interaction, loyal friendships, sacrifice, selflessness, fear, and courage.

The author delves into the complex dynamics of power and magic, showing us how it can be used for both good and bad and how it can influence relationships and society.

The story focuses on the relationship between best friends Agnieszka and Kasia, showing how their bond of friendship is tested and strengthened, and how such loyalty and friendship can overcome difficult challenges.

We see the characters faced with difficult choices and how they make tough decisions to protect their loved ones.

The enchanted forest in the story has a profound meaning, telling us about the balance between nature and humanity and showing the interconnectedness of all living beings. The author tells us about the consequences of disrupting such a balance.

We see the characters repeatedly facing their fears and finding the courage to overcome them. The author shows us the transformative power that lies in facing and overcoming fear.

All these elements create feelings and emotions that resonate with the reader. The complexity of the plotline and rich world-building compel the reader to finish the story in one sitting.

Regarding the writing style, it is a descriptive narrative that immerses the reader in the world of the enchanted forest filled with menacing creatures and intricate magic permeating the land.

One major positive in the story is the exploration of themes of sacrifice, friendship, and love. It is a perfect blend of fantasy and fairy tale with a female protagonist - stories with female leads are comparatively few.

To me, this is a deep, spellbinding book crafted by Naomi Novik. It will leave an impact long after you turn the final page.

So, if you are looking forward to reading a fantasy or a fairy tale, go ahead and give it a try - you won't be disappointed.

Closing the book and putting it aside, I am now sitting with my mom and enjoying a hearty breakfast in the quiet, peaceful morning.
