Does gaming better than reading ?

Time to start to change you routine

By CapuChinoPublished 5 days ago 2 min read

For years, my daily routine was predictable: work, home, and reading. Books were my escape, my adventure, and my comfort. Every evening, I’d lose myself in the pages of a novel, savoring the stories and characters that unfolded before me. My bookshelf was my treasure trove, filled with countless tales waiting to be discovered.

One day, a friend mentioned a new video game they were playing. They spoke with such enthusiasm and excitement that I couldn't help but be intrigued. Gaming was something I had never seriously considered; it seemed so different from my beloved books. Yet, curiosity got the better of me. I decided to give it a try.

That evening, I downloaded a popular game and, with some hesitation, picked up a controller. At first, it was awkward and unfamiliar. The controls felt alien, and I found myself struggling to navigate the virtual world. But as the hours passed, I began to understand the mechanics, and a new kind of story began to unfold before me. It was interactive, immersive, and engaging in ways I hadn't expected.

As days turned into weeks, I found myself looking forward to gaming sessions just as much as I had once anticipated my reading time. The thrill of overcoming challenges, the camaraderie of multiplayer games, and the intricate narratives of single-player adventures were captivating. I realized that, much like books, games could tell powerful stories and evoke deep emotions.

However, I didn't want to abandon my love for reading. I decided to strike a balance. I set aside specific times for gaming and ensured I still had my quiet moments with a good book. Some evenings, I would dive into a fantasy novel, while on others, I'd embark on epic quests in virtual worlds. This balance brought a new richness to my life.

As I embraced this new hobby, I discovered that gaming and reading could complement each other. The skills I honed from years of reading—imagination, empathy, and critical thinking—enhanced my gaming experiences. Conversely, the quick thinking and problem-solving required in games added a new dimension to my reading.

My bookshelf still held its place of honor in my home, now accompanied by a modest gaming setup. I had found joy in both worlds, each offering unique experiences and pleasures. My routine had evolved, becoming a blend of old and new, familiar and exciting. And through it all, I learned that it was never too late to explore new interests and expand one's horizons.

I hope you enjoyed my story and thank you :)
