Pyour Skin Care; a black-owned skincare line that promotes healthy skin and education for communities.

Everyone wants clear skin, the type of skin that “ naturally glows” in the sun or stands out as you casually post up for Instagram or Facebook. But finding those all-natural products that aren’t super expensive and works just as well as the name brands out there can be hard to find.

Meet Purcell Pearson the founder of Pyour Skin Care

Well, a recent alum of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Purcell Pearson, has started his very own skincare line called Pyour Skin Care, promoting pure skincare for his community.

“ Pyour was created to promote pure skincare for our community. We hope to give our community members the platform and ability to realize skincare does not have to be expensive, and it does not have to be challenging or confusing,” says Pearson.

Pearson came from a single mother; living in a six-member household growing up, he was taught to be resourceful with what was available. Money was often tight. His upbringing motivated him to start Pyour Skin Care.

It can be challenging starting a business and getting things running from the ground up and for Pyour, not being able to get in front of people and make connections the traditional way has pushed them to create impactful experiences online.

“We work to ensure we use sanitary measures to protect against any spread of the virus and have majorly worked online to create and interact with our family,” says Pearson.

Pyour is a small up and coming business that previously developed during the take over of COVID-19. Consequently, Pearson is faced with a global pandemic like any other entrepreneur during this time.

“Being a small black-owned business in Milwaukee has been an eye-opening experience growing our base online as it helps us see outside of Milwaukee and our immediate surrounding,” says Pearson.

Pyour’s mission is to provide their information and products to underserved and underrepresented communities while improving their health and self-confidence.

“ We believe in creating a family of diverse and knowledgeable individuals… One size does not fit all, but by providing the best education on the skin and the nutrients it needs, we can set up our family for success,” says Pearson.

Family, Pure, and Understanding are just a few words that would describe the Pyour Skin Care brand.

Pure defines Pyour as using only 100% all-natural products and strives to stay close to what will mix with one’s skin's natural oils best.

“Pure also applies to how the community is handled; with pure love, compassion, and intentions that can create an environment in which skincare is not only talked about when problems arise but in other areas as well,” says Pearson.

The word family speaks to the type of values and goals that Pyour sets.

“We want to be a place where anyone can learn about their skin and foster healthy skin and healthy environments. Stress affects many of us, and it is consequently harmful to our skin. We want to provide a family support structure to alleviate that stress,” says Pearson.

Understanding applies to being knowledgeable while diving into what healthy skin means.

“You have to educate yourself and understand your skin to see success. We want to provide you with the tools to understand your skin and your skincare products. We use common names for our ingredients on our labels to ensure that our community can easily understand what they are using and why,” says Pearson.

When comparing to other larger skincare products, Pyour stands because its focus is on family and education. Helping customers and allowing them to become a part of the Pyour family makes Pyour the company and brand. Most importantly, Pyour is a brand for everyone and wants to take care of their skin.

“We strive to make our family yours and to make sure everyone feels included. Our logo is an example of a visual representation of how this brand works for both Men and Women. Men specifically, we support and stand behind Women and their empowerment,” says Pearson.

Taking a look at Pyour’s logo, Women happen to be in the forefront; many of their models are a part of the LGTBQ+ community.

As time goes on, Pyour is striving to become more inclusive in how they truly and purely represent everyone in skincare.

Currently, Pyour sells body butter and two types of face serums. The Pyour Pack is a combination of all products. Pyour is hoping to start producing face scrubs, toners, hair/beard oil, and body oils in the future.

In the next 2-5 years, Pyour hopes to impact and get those struggling with skin problems that may cause low self-esteem and, in extreme cases, bullying by eventually providing a support system for them to get them where they want to go.

“We want to bring the same awareness to skincare that is often seen in nutrition or fitness. Skin health is significant even though society might try to limit it to specific genders or people. We want to become the skincare industry leaders when it comes to bringing household products onto the ingredients label,” says Pearson.

Pyour skincare has products for sensitive skin. Their face serum mainly includes a blend of almond and jojoba oil to help clean, repair, and seal the skin from harmful bacteria that create an infection, acne, and redness that sensitive skin may have.

“All of our products use no harsh chemicals and blend well with the body's natural oils. Lavender essential oils are used in the oil blend, which has been researched to help irritation in sensitive skin,” says Pearson.
