Liptember – Time to Rock a Fun Lipstick

Liptember is here! So, now is the time to wear bright lipstick. And, though this month is dedicated to having some fun with your lip color; this month has a more important meaning. Keep reading to learn more about the importance of this month.

In 2010, this month was started as a fun way to break out your favorite lipstick. But, more importantly, to raise awareness and funds for women’s mental health.

At the same time, two friends, Luke and Renee were looking for a fun way to raise awareness and funds for women’s mental health struggles. Because they saw a lot of groups working towards women’s health issues; they didn’t see anything in mental health.

So, that’s how it started!

Though this month started in Australia to add some “Pop” to your lips; mental health is a widespread problem for women everywhere.

In fact, in Australia, 1 in 5 women will experience depression, and 1 out of every 3 will have anxiety in their lifetime. Especially with the worldwide pandemic; there has been an increase in mental health struggles across the globe.

Because women across the world suffer from anxiety, depression, and other mental health conditions; this month was created to raise awareness of mental health issues. Check out my Mental Health Awareness Month post on how you can make a difference.

Through the years this has grown. However, there is a lot more work to be done.

Of course, this month is all about rocking a bright, fun lipstick shade.

In the same fashion, one of the best ways to support this important cause is to wear a bright-colored lipstick or lipgloss product.

When it comes to the importance of mental health; women’s mental health differs from men’s in anxiety, postpartum depression, and stress.

Furthermore, you can donate or begin your own fundraiser.

Moreover, it is essential that you encourage anyone you know who suffers from mental health issues to get help right away.

Though mental health has come a long way – there is still a long way to go.

More importantly, show your support on the outside but your compassion on the inside for any woman who may be struggling with mental health issues.
