Joyful

A Poem

Sitting Around

Listening, Watching

Hearing, Seeing

The song of birds,

The love of crickets.

Rushing water,

A slight burn in the air.

A cat crawls,

Thrugh the bush.

The dog sits,

Waiting on the next visitor.

Blue smoke rising from between my fingers,

The sun goes down.

The world comes to life then,

Like it can't in the day.

The rustling of bats,

The song of birds quickly dying.

Lights

Lights

Lights from bugs,

From passing cars,

Fly's go to sleep

Bee's wait for the light.

The darkness envelops,

and hugs us all.

We are the darkness,

We are the night.

Only then do we feel alive,

As the heat goes down,

The moon comes up.

And the rest of humanity

Sleeps...

Sleeps.
