How to Get Rid of Whiteheads and Blackheads Fast
Ways to Remove Whiteheads & Blackheads
Whiteheads are a similar form of acne as blackheads and the difference is that in whiteheads the skin pore is so microscopic or small that the air cannot oxidize the dead skin cells which form into blackheads and remain under the skin as whiteheads. Acne is a skin condition that affects 85% of teenagers and subsidizes by the time a person grows to the age of 20 years. There are many types of acne which range from zits to cystic acne. Blackheads and whiteheads are the two most common types of acne. Acne occurs when the sebum oil which is produced naturally gets clogged with dead skin cells and do not reach the skin surface. In normal circumstances the oil is excreted onto the skin and through the hair and that is why our faces tend to shine with this thin oil film. It is when the oil production increases and the dead cells do not reach the skin surface and get sloughed off that acne occurs.
Whiteheads show as tiny white dots just under the skin surface and cannot be squeezed out with a remover like blackheads. It is during teens that the sebum production increases with the changing hormones and acne occurs, this excess oil production eases of to normal when a person is in their late teens or early twenties. There are only two theories that hold any water regarding causes of acne and one is genetic and the other is stress. The others regarding eating habits, etc are disregarded by dermatologists. Acne in any form has no overnight miracle cure so the more ready we are to accept it as a phase of life the better equipped we will be to treat it.
Blackheads are bigger than whiteheads and are more visible and easier to remove by using charcoal face pack. Trying to remove whiteheads forcibly with any sharp object or with one's finger nails can damage the skin and leave scars, so one should not try to do this. Whitehead take time to cure which could even stretch into months, but one should not give up and restricting diet or washing the face any number of times a day is not going to help rid whiteheads. So to treat whiteheads acne one must wash the face (this is generally where whiteheads and blackheads form) twice daily with a mild soap and avoid using any harsh soap or towel, use charcoal peel off mask twice a week. Applying benzoyl peroxide helps kill bacteria and open the clogged skin pores. Tretinoin, Renova, Retin-A is the main treatment of whiteheads and this increases skin turnover which helps open clogged skin pores and return the skin to normal. However use of this can cause skin irritation and care should be taken in using it. Antibiotics may be prescribed for any form of acne but for this one needs to see a dermatologist. Dermatologists help should be sought if the outbreak of whiteheads is severe and then one must follow their instructions. There are a number of home remedies for removing whiteheads and blackheads and one can try them as long as one is not allergic to the ingredients that are used.
There are similarities in blackheads and whiteheads and oily skin whiteheads are as common as blackheads. The only difference is that in blackheads the pores are open and in whiteheads they are closed, so if one attempts to remove whitehead they are going to end up scarring the skin. Steaming can help in opening the skin pores and allow the whiteheads to pop open and turn into blackheads. There are all long term cures for acne, be it blackheads or whiteheads or any other form of acne and one has to deal with all of them with patience.
