The dewy skin trend is something many of us aspire to, and what's not to love? A dewy complexion is all about natural luminosity and a moist, smooth texture. It can be achieved by applying the right skincare formulas, whether your skin is oily, dry, normal, sensitive, or combination. Our skincare pros have some excellent tips on adding the proper, dewy skin essentials to your daily routine.

Cleansing

Use a gentle cleanser so that you don't irritate or strip your complexion. It is also essential to exfoliate the skin to deliver natural radiance and smoothness and eliminate dull, dead skin layers.

Good skincare products such as a face mask or polish type of exfoliator can add that look of glass to your skin. Or a rosewater facial toner is another option for the appearance of minimized pores and smooth, hydrated skin.

Moisturizer

When it comes to an enviable, dewy complexion, moisture plays a leading role. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is one of the finest ingredients that boost hydration in light and buildable.

HA is suitable for all skin types and results in supple, plumped skin that looks healthy and glows. The reason hyaluronic acid enhances dewy skin is simple: it has the natural ability to attract and hold up to 1000 times its weight in water.

Moisturizers and serums containing HA belong in your dewy skin beauty arsenal. Think of it this way. Hyaluronic acid is the ultimate drink for your skin.

Here is a makeup tip you can try: After applying your makeup, add a little dab of HA serum on top of your cheekbones for added dewiness.

Creamy Makeup

Cosmetics like foundation and blush should be in creamy form for striking that pretty, dewy look. Using powders and mattifying everything does not give a fresh, glowing appearance.

A dewy look is subtle, ageless, natural, and doesn't try to hide freckles, etc. In other words, a light foundation or BB cream lays down a smooth, breathable canvas and never looks overdone.

There are many varieties of foundations for your skin type that offer light to modest and full coverage.

The same goes for blush. Choose a creamy formula that is light and moisturizing. Don't worry about heavy contouring and bronzing. That trend seems to be on its way out.

Apply blush on the apples of your cheeks for a natural-looking radiance. Blush also adds dimension to the face and warmth to the complexion.

Highlighter

Here is another tool in the dewy face toolbox. A highlighter in a cream base gives a lovely glow and can be applied high on the cheekbones, temples, bridge of the nose, atop the Cupid's bow, etc.

Wearing a highlighter helps illuminate the bone structure when the light catches it, and it can deliver quite a head-turning effect.

Facial Mist

To complete your beautiful, dewy appearance, our skincare pros suggest a spritz or two of a facial mist. Think of it as a gorgeous veil of moisture that will seal in your look and not interrupt the cosmetics you have on.

Close your eyes, and hold the bottle 10 inches away from your face and neck, and spray. Let it dry for a couple of minutes, and you will see that gorgeous glow that is now set and hydrated.

Facial Oil

If you prefer a more natural and glowing face, you can skip foundation and apply facial oil.

It's simple to use, too. Just warm up a few drops between your fingertips, and then smooth over your skin. You can also dab on a little more throughout the day to revive your appearance.

Facial oils can be especially beneficial to complexions that are dry, dehydrated, or sensitive.

When you want to get your glow on and achieve that stunning, dewy look, you don't have to break your beauty budget. All kinds of products are available at all price points that can create that non-stop radiance that many of us envy.

Remember to follow a good cleansing routine so that your face and neck maintain their suppleness. Then apply creamy products and a facial mist, and go!
