Zeddy Will Turned in the Performance of the Night at Summer Jam

Zeddy Will Had the Best Set of Summer Jam And He Wasn't Even The Main Event by NWO Sparrow

A firsthand account of the ten minutes that stole the entire night at Prudential Center.

Zeddy Will Didn't Just Perform at Summer Jam 2026 , He Took It Over

I've been watching Zeddy Will's come-up for years now, from a local New York artist grinding on the state circuit to a name that people across the country now say with respect. So when I tell you that watching him headline-adjacent at Summer Jam this past Friday, July 24th, at Prudential Center hit different, I need you to understand, this wasn't just another show for me. This was a receipt.

Last year, Zeddy was a feature on somebody else's set at Summer Jam. That's a good look, don't get it twisted , a lot of artists never even get that. But a feature is a guest appearance. It's borrowed time on somebody else's stage. This year, Zeddy Will had his own slot, a few acts before headliners Max B and French Montana, on the Summer Jam mainstage.

And it meant even more knowing he's from NYC. There's something about watching a hometown artist get his moment on a New Jersey stage that the whole tri-state , and by extension, the whole culture is watching. It's not just Zeddy's win. It's a New York win.

The Entrance Alone Was a Statement

Before Zeddy even hit a note, he made it clear this wasn't going to be a standard Summer Jam set. He came out to the theme of WWE's The Undertaker , that gong hit, and the entire arena knew something was about to happen. In true Undertaker fashion, the lights cut out completely as Zeddy made his entrance through the top of the audience. Not from the wings. Not from backstage. Through the crowd, from above, like he was descending on Prudential Center rather than just walking out to perform in it.

That's theater. That's an artist who understands that in 2026, a "performance" isn't just songs , it's a moment, a visual, something people are going to be talking about and posting before the first verse even drops.

His hypeman had the crowd primed and ready, getting the women in the building to grab their best friend and start twerking before Zeddy even stepped to the mic. Then he came out and went straight into "Twerking Wit Ya Friends" , his hit record, the one that's been a soundtrack for a certain kind of night out for a while now. No warm-up. No easing in. He hit the ground running.

Ten Minutes to Prove Two Points

Zeddy had a short window , about 10 minutes , and in that time he had to do two things at once , remind the people who already knew him why he's had this upward trajectory since 2022, and put the new crowd on notice for the first time. That's a hard needle to thread. A lot of artists with twice that time struggle to do either one convincingly.

Zeddy did both. He checked every box.

What stood out to me, watching as someone who's followed this whole arc, is that he didn't perform like a man playing it safe with limited time. He mingled with the crowd. He ran through his chart-topping hits like a headliner who already knew the room belonged to him, not like someone trying to make the most of a short opening slot. There was a confidence in it , earned, not borrowed.

The Set That Changed the Temperature of the Night

I'll say this plainly, Zeddy's performance changed the tone of the entire event. Summer Jam is a stacked lineup every year, full of artists who could headline their own arenas on a different night. But Zeddy's set is the one that made the ticket price feel worth it. It wasn't a guy up there running through a setlist the way he could've done at SOB's or the Knockdown Center on any given Tuesday. This was an experience , scaled, staged, and delivered for a mainstage crowd at Prudential Center, sandwiched a few acts before Max B and French Montana closed the night out.

Hands down, best performance of the night. I'm not saying that as a fan holding a bias , I'm saying that as somebody who was standing in that arena and felt the room shift the second that gong hit.

I've watched Zeddy go from a name you had to explain to people, to a name that needs no introduction. Friday night at Summer Jam, in front of a mainstage crowd in his own backyard, he made that case louder and clearer than he ever has. And if this is what a 10-minute set looks like now, I'm not sure the industry is ready for what a headlining Zeddy Will set is going to feel like.
