As if more hype couldn’t surround social engineer Akademiks, he chose to suggest that he will snitch on Lil’ Baby. This inference declares his penchant for stirring up controversy and bringing to light the fragility of rappers and their careers.

He has mentioned the Fulton County, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis who rounded up Young Thug, Gunna, and others in a RICO case. Akademiks is ready to let off a few words against Lil’ Baby if it comes to that.

He said that the “Drip Too Hard” rapper said he could get “touched.” Then he started with the theatrics asking if that means he could be fondled. Of course, in hip hop speech, this means that you could be bodily harmed or killed and not pleasured in any way.

For all the tough talk by keyboard killers and mousepad mobsters, Akademiks may have a point in saying that he might go to the D.A. Lil’ Baby mentioned Akademiks by name in two songs on his latest album. Neither occasion was flattering.

What Akademiks may plan to do is actually back up his words like a hard drive. If he is out here snitching, there may be a chance for other media personalities to step up against force and fraud.

If the “In a Minute” rapper can’t compete with the heat that will be thrown his way by way of Ak, his career may stall like his fellow rap star DaBaby. It is serious when lives and money lie on the line.

With the power that Akademiks wields with Generation Z, he might have the opportunity to show that snitching is proper when used against the perpetrators. In this case it is an individual.

By showing that Lil’ Baby is allegedly making outlandish threats against Alademiks’ life, the Internet phenomenon may just put others into the game. Much like T.I. and Charleston White, two confirmed informants, Akademiks may join the ranks of true rats.

This grown man can show children and adults that it’s okay to snitch as long as it is objective. That means that the snitchery must be thorough, provable, and just against those who have hurt or intend to hurt themselves or others.

Future generations will be able to dissect the tension emanating from Akademiks. As a student of the game, he has grown into a force for the younger crowds who wish to see more of his outrageous humor and insightful commentary. He’s the Stephen A. Smith of the rap game. He pushes buttons and tries to elicit a reaction every time he opens his mouth.

Hip hop works differently, however. There are no list of words you can’t say on the air. You can talk reckless and some of the only people who will check you are Web trolls.

What Akademiks should do is stick to snitching. He may be toying with the idea now, but it should be made apparent that he is ready to tell. Whether it is for a bag or just to ensure his safety, he should explore his options. In taking inventory of his options, he shouldn’t let Lil’ Baby just get by with speaking on his name in an offensive sense. While he should be chanting, “keep my name in yo’ mouf!” he should definitely consider snitching.

As a result of people attacking Ak for his tendency to run off at his own mouth, he should “run tell dat” to the D.A. Whenever a life could be potentially threatened it’s important to note that words are different from fists, knives, and guns. To speak freely is part of the First Amendment. That doesn’t include fraud, libel, or terroristic threats.

Akademiks should hop on the cop phone and tell everything he knows. Snitches get riches.
