Hi all!

1. “Like Lovers Do” – Jacob Sigman, Frankie

Jacob Sigman is a singer/songwriter from Detroit who’s an up-and-coming artist looking for his spot in pop-music fame. He has been releasing music since 2017 yet more recently, Sigman has decided to release a single on the first day of every month for a whole year. Not only is that quite a challenge, but it also puts a fun twist on his releases. Frankie, who features on the track, is also an undiscovered artist who posts her music on Soundcloud. She’s got a sweet voice and it’s perfect for Sigman’s latest release.

“Like Lovers Do” is an instant mood shaker. It’s a light-hearted and feel-good tune with funk vibes. It describes falling in love at first sight; it’s cute and perhaps provokes nostalgic feels for all the loved-up listeners out there. It’s certainly an upbeat tune that will make you dance. Sensational atmosphere from this artist, he is one to be looking out for in 2020!

2. “Talk Talk Talk” – NICE.

DISCLAIMER: NICE. is such an up-and-coming band, getting a photo of them was SUPER difficult!

NICE. Are a recently formed band from Lynchburg. “Talk Talk Talk” is their second single, leading up to their EP release later this year. Their style is a mix of indie and rock and NICE. Falls somewhere perfectly between the two. NICE. have already formed their unique sound and it’s so nice to hear from a band who has only released two singles. It’s polished, it’s awesome, and I think they’re going to do very well for themselves.

“Talk Talk Talk” came after their first single had so much success. The band was overwhelmed by the praise they received, and they even posted a thank-you on their Instagram. NICE. proceeded to tease fans with promo for “Talk Talk Talk,” saying that they wanted to “Spread love and joy to all that will listen.” They accomplished that 100%. The tune is funky, exciting and there’s such a raw sound to it that I really can’t get enough of it. 11/10 recommend this song, and the band.

3. “Sooner” – Orchards

This Brighton based quartet have been producing music since 2016 and continue to release summer melodies and indie tracks that are pure gold. Their sound has been described as a “glittery gateway drug” to insanely amazing music that is charming, fun, and care-free. Orchards have been supported by the UK’s most popular radio station, BBC Radio 1, and they’ve been hailed as “Ones To Watch.” This band is certainly destined for mainstream fame.

“Sooner” is Orchards' latest release, and it is not disappointing. The tune reminds me slightly of something from the 80s, mixed with new sounding pop. It effortlessly transports you to better times, putting you into the mood for summer, the beach and all things fun. With a newly promoted tour, “Sooner” is just the tune to sum up how amazing Orchards is. They’re the embodiment of a good time.

4. “Miss Shiney” – Kaiit

Now, this track has been out since May this year and I am ONLY just discovering it how?! I am definitely putting you onto something here. Kaiit is a neo-soul/R&B singer who has silently been killing the game since 2017. She describes her music writing as “a diary-style type of expression” which is exactly spot-on. Her music is relatable and so easy to connect to. Her style is no doubt one of which is empowering for women—her tunes, her voice, all makes you feel like one badass b*tch!

“Miss Shiney” is also an empowering tune. It’s funky, it’s dreamy, and once again leaves you feeling so amazing! Her music really is a game changer! It’s really no wonder that this up-and-coming artist is so praised upon and continues to grow. This tune gives off good vibes no matter how you’re feeling. In a bad mood? Put this song on. IN a great mood? Have this song on repeat! I truly cannot recommend “Miss Shiney” and Kaiit enough.

5. “Lenox Hill” – Thyla

All the musical talent in the UK must come from Brighton as this is the second band I’ve recommended in this post! Thyla have been creating music since 2017 and have quickly become a shining star in the UK’s indie genre. They released their first EP in early 2019 and their well awaited and anticipated second EP will be released in early 2020—so there’s not long to go now fans!

“Lenox Hill” is a coming-of-age tale which was inspired by Millie Duthie’s experiences as a kid growing up in New York. It’s a fun tune with the emotion and honesty of a true story. The song’s atmosphere is a mix of dream-pop and post-punk and it’s blended in the most beautiful way. Thyla clearly know how to make a good track, and “Lenox Hill” is one of them!
