Hi all!

Welcome back to Tunes to Get Grooving To! As you’re aware, the world has spiralled into a virus-filled, lockdown crazy place. It can be scary and worrying. Just a reminder: wash your hands and stay at home. If you can’t get COVID-19 out of your mind, then here are five grooving tunes to take your mind off things!

1. “Breakfast In The Park” – Scotty Sire

Those of you who have read previous TTGGT will already know about Scotty Sire. He is a YouTube singer-songwriter who has been creating exciting pop/rap music for a couple years now. His songs focus on love, mental illness and anecdotes from his friend group. A lot of his fans say the lyrics are relatable, and I totally agree.

“Breakfast In The Park” is about a couple who meet up after they have broken up, and they spend time together. It’s super easy to listen to and the beat is very catchy. Although the lyrics have sad meanings, it never comes across as heart-breaking. Some even speculate that this song has been inspired by Sire’s recent breakup with fellow YouTube star Kristen McAtee after the couple split from their five-year relationship.

2. “Heartbreak Weather” – Niall Horan

This ex One Direction star keeps coming back with some amazing solo tunes. Starting off his solo career in 2016, he quickly propelled himself into the world of solo artist fame. His new album focuses on the different aspects of a relationship, from love at first sight, to the painful heartbreak.

“Heartbreak Weather” is one of his newest singles and features on his new album, which has the same name. The style of this tune is a mix of pop and indie groove, and it definitely doesn’t disappoint. It has potential to be in your chill playlist and your summer playlist because it covers both vibes! Plus, his humour in the music video is just great!

3. “The Steps” – HAIM

HAIM is a three-piece sister act this mix up genres to create their own sound. A lot of their music comes from influences such as 80s synth pop, 90s R&B and modern pop. They first started creating music in 2012, and over the last eight years they’ve spent the time to perfect their sound and grow their fanbase.

“The Steps” is one of their new singles and it is just as amazing as the rest of their tunes. It’s upbeat and catchy, and definitely one for summer. I simply cannot fault this band; their style is flawless and unique. 10/10 recommend checking them out if you haven’t already!

4. “Keep Climbing” – Cobi

Cobi has been a part of bands in the past but started releasing solo music back in 2016. He has been singing and song-writing since 2008 and so the last twelve years have been dedicating to getting Cobi where he is now. One of his most popular tunes is “Don’t Cry For Me”, which you need to check out!

“Keep Climbing” is his new single and the fans love it! Many believe that Cobi deserves more fame, as “everybody should be talking about this guy”. This tune is other-worldly. The vocals a re beautiful and the music is moving. It’s a powerful song that gives me chills. It really deserves to be listened to; I even have it on repeat!

5. “julia” – Jeremy Zucker

Jeremy Zucker is an American singer-songwriter who has been producing music since 2015 who describes his tunes as “airy beats” with Tumblr worthy lyrics and “soundtrack-style soundscapes”. Honestly? His description could not be more spot on.

“julia” is just another example of how I could listen to Zucker’s vocals all day. His voice is soft, and the backing track is dreamy. This tune will be a part of his new album which will be released at some point this spring. I cannot wait to see what other songs get released soon for this album!
