Avril Lavigne
Hello readers! My name is Kristen and I wanted to share some thoughts about some current music that's out and about these days. The first song I would like to share my thoughts on is Avril Lavigne's latest single, "Head Above Water."

We can all see that young Ariana Grande that once played the innocent and bubbly red-haired girl on Victorious has definitely grown up. We loved her then and we certainly love her now! With the debut of her newest "Thank You, Next" music video, the world is going wild. Bringing all of our personal favorite teen comedies together into one music video. Here are some of the reasons why you need to go watch this music video right now (well, after you're done reading my blog of course) if you haven't already...

So I'm not a rapper or anything like that, but I do write lyrics. I wouldn't really consider myself a musician even though I dabble in music sometimes. I've been writing lyrics on and off since I was 14 years old but at first, I thought I was the next Eminem or something but looking back on it now, I might've tried too hard.

Before we get into it I'm sure we all know this film is historically inaccurate and P.T. Barnum is far from the loveable music man that is Hugh Jackman. Also, this film is perfectly serviceable but it's the songs that stand out more than anything.

New Slipknot Music!
The first time I saw Slipknot live, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was mass chaos. The crowd was insane. There was more people on the stage than I've ever seen in band. They were leaping into the crowd. I remember being kicked in the head by one of the guys from the band as he dove in. It was loud, intense, the light show was seizure educing. They jumped around, slammed into each other, pounded on metal beer kegs. Well, anyone who knows the band is pretty darn familiar with this anyway. This was at least 20 years ago now, when I was much younger and they were much younger. They had this insane, intense energy that the young seem to be able to have and sustain.
Chris HearnPublished 5 years ago in BeatThe People Responsible For Making Ambient Music Interesting Again
In 2010, I was at the height of my crippling gaming obsession. Every day was spent staring at an oversized TV through a greasy, straightened fringe, keeping myself hopped up on Rockstar Energy and Vitamin D supplements. It was an exciting time; wasting fools on Halo 3 and avoiding any conversation or social outing, thinking I was "alt" by throwing up a peace sign and not showering enough. I figured a personality wasn't necessary as long as you wore as much neon as you could and, instead of smiling, pull that sideways scrunched face people break out when they're insecure about their teeth. I wouldn't have talked to me, you wouldn't have talked to me, let's sit and pity me together.
Ed Morris-KnightleyPublished 5 years ago in BeatWhy 'Neon Gravestones' Is the Most Important Song on the Trench Album
We are two weeks into the Trench album, and just like every album Tyler, and Josh have given us a true piece of art. There is something refreshing about Twenty One Pilots songs, for each person this can be because of something different, but for me, it is refreshing to hear a band write, sing and perform about something as real as mental health, personal struggle, recovery, and how love will alway win. Every song on this album stood out to me, and made me feel like I wasn’t alone. But one song stuck out to me:
Alicia RosePublished 5 years ago in Beat"Acid Rain:" The Meaning
I've watched this music video quite a few times. It just fascinates me with the dancing and death. I didn't quite get the meaning behind the video though. I was at a complete loss.

Similar to pretty much everyone else on the planet, music has saved me from jumping off a cliff and into an endless chasm of fire countless times. In this post, I’m going to share some of my favorite pieces of ear candy because I’m not just a negative bitch… I’m a negative bitch with good taste in music. For each song, I'm going to give my favorite lines and some commentary because I need to hit a minimum of 600 words to post. Now sit back, relax, and vibe with me.
Top 10 Best Taylor Swift Songs
This is it. This is the list you've been waiting for. Let me start by saying one thing: This list was very difficult to form. I have been listening to Taylor for a really, really long time so most of her songs spark certain memories and feelings from my life, as it does for all of her loyal listeners (which is one of the things that makes Taylor so special, right?). But trying to narrow down ALL of her amazing songs into a short list of 10?! It was hard. Maybe I should have done a Top 20. Or 30.
