Truth - "SUMMER'S OVER"
Before the drop of his first album since December 2018, comes this amazing single “SUMMER’S OVER”. Truth is back and delivers yet another outstanding record that has his audience in awe. It’s the sequel to his 2020 hit single “The Summer” which made its way onto my Spotify playlists and into my soul this summer. The song instantly starts out with a double vocal, pop-rap verse as the beat fades in, grabbing the listener’s attention instantly. A lyric in verse #1 that really stood out to me is one that appears to be very metaphoric; “flowers might not flourish (yea), please don’t be a serpent (yea)”. Given the title “SUMMER’S OVER”, we know as the summer weather comes to a halt we tend to lose beautiful aspects such as our flowery gardens and maybe the overall warmth within our hearts. Summer is a time where most people tend to go out with family and friends to enjoy the sunshine and have fun. Most are on vacation from school or work and have all the time in the world to make life long memories. When summer break is over it’s back to work, back to school and the world of stresses reappear. This is definitely the cause of why people feel forced to turn on their serious mode and become a bit cold. That’s what I get out of the lyric above. Now onto the chorus, Truth always delivers a catchy, vibrant chorus for his listeners. In this chorus, he explains that in the moment things might be over but it’s guaranteed to return and next time he’ll seal the deal and secure his love interest’s heart. “We’ll be warm again and be more than friends” - Truth. His lyrics have really deep meaning when you look beyond the surface, although they’re usually easy and fun to sing along to. The second verse was outstanding, he starts out singing, showcasing his vocals before jumping into a super vibe to end of the verse. His rhymes are always on point and if his music was a movie, it’d for sure be a “feel-good” genre. My favorite part in this song comes at the 2:32 mark where the beat retracts then instantly starts back up and a new twist on the chorus comes thru as the outro. I absolutely love how he closed this song. Not to be biased but this has to be my new personal favorite and I’ll have it on repeat for years to come during the non-summer months.

Are you a rocker? Maybe you’re into angst-ridden music— Radiohead, Bjork perhaps? You could be a folkie or prefer indie rock. A bit of Beethoven or Rachmaninoff? Modern R&B anyone?
Alex MarkhamPublished 3 years ago in BeatSensational R&B singer and songwriter Micah Willis drops a brand new R&B single titled "Forget”
Sensational R&B singer and songwriter Micah Willis drops a brand new R&B single titled "Forget. "Forget" is a moderate tempo elevating R&B track with lyrics and theme leaning towards dance and "having a good time." "Forget" is a "feel-good" song somewhat written in response to the most recent world upsets and crises - especially the COVID-19 Pandemic of 2020. According to Micah Willis, “Forget,” just as the song title suggests is about “forgetting all the terrible times we had in 2020.” Micah believes it is time everyone goes out to have fun. Instrumentally, “Forget” is rooted in very solid R&B influences as it also taps some minor [but not insignificant] elements from genres like rap, trap, soul, and blues.

Songs That Make Me Feel Alive Again
Music is a direct line to my soul. Follow the notes into my ears through my brain and down into the very core of me. It fuels me. It is the moving force, the tide of my ocean of emotions. It can open my eyes, soothe my soul, conjure my laughter, conjure my tears.

Crystal Gayle, born Brenda Webb in 1951, is one of country music's most successful female vocalists. Her knockout good-looks and floor length hair have garnered her significant media attention. But it is her music that made her a household name in the 1970s and 1980s.

I created this song while stuck in a creative block. I created this song while deep in the middle of a pandemic. I created this song while feeling uneasy about the security of my home and the well-being of the quality of my life. I created this song while mentally exhausted yet physically full of energy to keep busy. I wrote this song with an optimistic outlook about my future. The writing process took close to a year to complete. That’s not my usual turn-around time. But to me it was worth it and it doesn’t make me love the song any-less than past songs I’ve created.
Hidden meaning in annoying Christmas carol
Is it possible that arguably one of the most annoying Christmas carols was a cleverly disguised mantra for Catholics during a time of persecution?

A "reply" from Ian Prowse on Twitter has made me think about this. I've always considered Pete Wylie's anthemic "Heart as Big as Liverpool" because of the fact that it's anthemic .

With sales topping 300 million units worldwide Led Zeppelin is one of the greatest rock bands of all-time. But it's not the sales that make Led Zeppelin great. It's the music. Jimmy, Robert, John Paul and John created some of the most textured, creative, and complex music of any genre from any era. Their sound is instantly recognizable and uniquely diverse. Their songs range in topic from New Orleans drag queens to the great flood of Mississippi in 1927. Each band member brings their own trademark style which combined forms a rich and solid sound which cannot be duplicated or imitated. Led Zeppelin phenomenal success and is a one of a kind band.
Rick Henry ChristopherPublished 3 years ago in BeatA Partridge in a Pear Tree
A Partridge in a Pear Tree What? Most songs have a modicum of truth attached to the lyrics, utilising the life’s experience of the writer who carefully chooses parts of his or her life to whom the hearing public can relate to. Words like love; marriage; friend; hate; mother; father etc, etc. Those words are then carefully moulded around a tune that is easily repeatable and which will hopefully get everyone singing along with them. The example I shall give is, what is known as a poetic form called “cumulative verse,” which is supposed to help you remember useless, mindless twoddle.
Gavin MayhewPublished 3 years ago in Beat9 Beatles songs that combine harmonic major with Ionian mode
The polyphonic structure of Western classical music distinguishes it from other musical traditions such as Indian classics where a lone melodic line is accompanied by a developed rhythm section. In contrast, polyphonic music involves the interaction between the horizontal melodic line and vertical chord structures, anticipating the listener's emotional response.

I think it's super important to exercise that writers muscle because you want to know that when that great idea or concept comes to you, being able to write it down isn't going to be the hard part. I've had so many ideas and concepts that never seen the light of day simply because I wasn't practiced enough to execute them properly. Let me tell you the story of 'My Lens.'
