Suddenly

Setting a New Bar

By Gerard DiLeoPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read
Next?

And suddenly the persnickety

Man behind the counter disapproved of me

I wanted in but couldn't win

Couldn't win bemusingly

He denieth, me

.

When I was there he wouldn't care

To take my fare, he wouldn't dare

You're not the type of tripe we state

We need, ourselves, to matriculate

He replieth, me

.

I circled 'round and 'round, 'roundily

To come at him so soundlessly

And from my clear, dear house of glass

Centrifug'ly, my stone was cast

At Goliath, he

.

'T'was brain over brawn and a might bygone

Before brains became the liaison

Replacing old ways and rules of thumb

And allowed tripe like me to come

.

He complieth, he
