This is a short series of songs written for each day of the week. I began with songs about Monday and progressing through the week we are now up to songs with Wednesday in the title and will add the links to each one below as I progress.

Wednesday Evening Blues” is a song that was written and performed by the American legendary blues artist John Lee Hooker. This song tells about the emotions and struggles of everyday life. It was released in 1949 as a timeless blues song. With time it gained in popularity through other recordings and performances and remains a beloved blues standard.

Wednesday Morning, 3 AM” was recorded by the American folk-rock duo Simon & Garfunkel. It is featured on their debut album in 1964. This song came around at the time the duo had found radio success and to its music were added electric guitars, a bass guitar, and a drum kit. The song charted on the Billboard 200 chart.

It’s Already Wednesday” is a beautiful song recorded by British singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Freya. The song lyrics explore life’s complexities and contemplate the passage of time and fleeting moments. The melody has a haunting feel and gives some bittersweet reflection. The song goes on to urge listeners to cherish every moment because time waits for no one. It was made even more endearing through Frey’s evocative vocals.

Wednesday Lover” is a song that was recorded by the American R&B and funk band The Gap Band. It was released in 1989 and is featured on their album Round Trip. Lead singer Charlie Wilson offers his smooth vocals. The lyrics urge listeners to find a love that will treat them right and bring them much happiness in life, The song expresses the fact that love can be found in the most unexpected places.

When It’s Nighttime in Italy It’s Wednesday Over Here” is a song that was recorded by the American rock duo The Everly Brothers. It has a wonderful tune and came out in 1962. It is featured on their album Instant Party. The lyrics are used to emphasize the beauty of our diverse world and with the duo’s harmonious voices and melodic tune the song becomes enchanting,

A Wednesday Car” is a song that was recorded by the legendary American country musician Johnny Cash in 1973. It is featured on his album Any Old Wind That Blows. It is the kind of song that you would expect from the Man in Black. The meaning behind the song is to reflect on the fleeting nature of life and the importance of cherishing every moment that we live. Cash was inspired by everyday life and uses a car as a metaphor expressing the passage of time. The lyrics paint the picture of a car taken out only on Wednesdays to symbolize the limited amount of time we have on this earth.

Wednesday in Your Garden” is a song that was recorded by the Canadian rock band The Guess Who. It is a nostalgic type of song with a profound meaning that resonated with many listeners. It is a poignant reminder of the complexities of connecting with others and the pain that can come from unrequited love.

Wednesday Week” is a song that was written by the band’s rhythm guitarist and principal songwriter John O’Neill. It was recorded in 1979 by Northern Irish rock band The Undertones and is on their album Hypnotized. The song was inspired by mid-sixties acts like The Kinks and The Beatles. The song charted on the UK Singles chart and became the band’s second-highest charting single.
