What’s a music video these days? Think about every music video you’ve seen in the year 2019. From Taylor Swift’s “ME!’ to Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy” even the viral master himself Lil Nas X and his video for “Old Town Road” all these videos are with high-end budgeting, and lots of crew on set to help tell the visual the artist wants to relay to the audience. What happens when you remove the machine? Can the magic still be kept alive? Will the viewers be entertained? Today I want you to get to know Rhyan Besco and at the end see why blogs like “The Vocal media” are calling him the answer to your 2020 musical needs.

Rhyan’s music video for his latest release Rhyan’s music video for his latest release “TODAY I ALMOST LET MY BOYS ROB YOU…” has the charisma of 2005 Kanye West (Gold Digger), the visual humor of 2002 Eminem (Without Me), mixed in with the aggression of 2003 50 Cent (In Da Club). You see Rhyan start off with a playful intro as you the viewer stumble into what appears to be Rhyan having a photoshoot with a bunch of headless mannequins, you then take your eye off the riverboy only to turn around and become kidnapped! Thus starting the 2 minute and 40 second trip you are now sent on!

If this is your first time hearing or reading about Rhyan Besco, it’s best to note that he is not just an artist, establishing himself as a brand just as quickly, you can easily see where his loyalty resides. Collaborating with the fashion brand ‘Champion’ Rhyan sports three different Champion looks throughout the video. Including a modified all white champion hoodie with their La Brea location in big black lettering on the back of it.

During the video Rhyan takes the lead by fully interrogating and some-what torturing you while you’re tied up with a rag over your head. Watching ‘The Riverboy’ go in and out of character will have you wondering what is real and what isn’t. From his twisted laughter to in a switch flashing an innocent smile. I often forgot I was watching a music video and was more concerned on when Rhyan was going to start his speaking lines revealing his big evil plan to the world. I would love to see some type of acting in the future from him..(when he’s done taking over the music world of course.)

This video was shot and directed by Simian’s Zack Stauffer and Jason Pundt. Which if you aren’t familiar with Simian and their high quality track record these videos and names will catch you up to speed. From, Iggy Azalea, Goody Grace, Blink182, Tyler the Creator, and Jennifer Lopez! They aren’t just great at working with the ‘big dogs’ they also have an eye for new talent like Don Toliver, Wallows, Moby Rich, and now Rhyan Besco. It’s hard to believe Rhyan isn’t operating with the powers of one of the big machines in the sky like Universal, Warner, or Sony. But the truth is, Rhyan might actually be like one of his many monikers says, “the son of thanos” his ability to draw a crowd in, perform in front of the audience, the camera, and close partnerships with multi-million dollar companies and not one manager behind him helping do so, the only logical explanation is that he in fact learned it from Thanos.

The video for “TODAY I ALMOST LET MY BOYS ROB YOU…” might be the straw that will break the mainstream camel's back for Besco. The creativity, ambition and fearless direction Rhyan is headed in will only serve him in the most beneficial way. His upcoming project “48 HOURS IN PORT HUENEME” continues to shape up into an anticipated release of 2020!
