I would venture to guess that there is one commonality shared among every single person quarantining while safe at home: if we didn't have our favourite music to get through this time, we'd all lose our collective minds.

For yours truly, I genuinely believe I could listen to the impeccable discography of BTS for the rest of my existence and never get bored. There is always a new appreciation felt when delving into the intricacies of a respective song's lyrics and the replay value of a BTS song is quite frankly unparalleled. It is not hyperbolic to state that myself and countless ARMYs can probably listen to "IDOL" on repeat for 24 hours a day 7 days a week and wonder when the next week will start so we can continue to scream out "YOU CAN'T STOP ME LOVIN' MYSELF!"

While this is definitely a bold claim, unlike those made by certain administrations that make a living spewing head-scratching proclamations, it is the truth.

So here is a collection of 40 BTS hits needed to satisfy your self-isolating playlist itch. I've broken it down to 20 head bangers and 20 head nodders because sometimes you want to throw the house down while other times you just want to bobble... It's also still the year 2020 if you can believe it.

Throw Down and Party Hard with These 20 Tracks

  • MIC Drop (Steve Aoki Remix)
  • Anpanman
  • FAKE LOVE
  • Go Go
  • IDOL
  • Dimple
  • DNA
  • Boy With Luv (ft. Halsey)
  • Dionysus
  • Boy In Luv

The first half of the Party Hard list features a number of hits that brought BTS into the mainstream collective (despite the glaring lack of radio play) including the monstrous Halsey collaboration Boy With Luv, MIC Drop, FAKE LOVE and IDOL.

For anyone brand new to BTS who has absolutely no idea just how insane the Boys' choreography can get, I'd recommend watching any live performance of "Dionysus." Like virtually every BTS song, it is an absolute club rager on the surface yet when you delve deeper into the meaning behind it you may find yourself staring off into the abyss of getting drunk off the creative process as your head continues to bang relentlessly.

  • Best Of Me
  • ON
  • I Need U
  • Run
  • Filter
  • Boyz with Fun
  • Blood, Sweat & Tears
  • Not Toda y
  • We Are Bulletproof Pt. 2
  • Outro: Ego.

The latter half features a mix of hits from their discography including three from their new album Map of the Soul: 7. There are a number of perfect group tracks included which will certainly pass the time efficiently as you strive to fully commit to the seven members' respective parts in "ON," "Blood, Sweat & Tears" and "Not Today."

We end with the glorious upbeat delight that is "Outro: Ego" by member J-Hope which juxtaposes brilliantly with the start of our Chill Vibes list.

Feel Like a Good Head Nod? Look No Further Than These 20 Embodiments of Chill Vibes

  • Intro: Singularity
  • I Like It
  • Hold Me Tight
  • Make It Right
  • House of Cards
  • Epilogue: Young Forever
  • First Love
  • 2! 3!
  • Spring Day
  • Awake

I wanted to make sure to include a number of songs that featured both a soothing feeling made for ample head nodding as found in "I Like It" and "Spring Day" along with the more slower tempo tracks including "Hold Me Tight," "House of Cards" and "Black Swan."

This first half of the playlist begins with the Intro to the album Love Yourself 轉 'Tear' entitled "Singularity" from member V. The crooning R&B/neo-soul track "finds vocalist V questioning the mask he wears to conceal his true feelings" with writer Charlie J. Perry revealing just how impressed he was with the singer's "passion and emotion" for the song: "[h]e definitely has the character that this song seemed to gel so well with."

  • Pied Piper
  • Intro: Serendipity
  • HOME
  • Black Swan
  • Euphoria
  • Louder than bombs
  • Mikrokosmos
  • 00:00 (Zero O'Clock)
  • My Time
  • We are Bulletproof: the Eternal

There are moments when you just want to be serenaded by the soft, velvety smooth sounds of Jungkook. His tranquil voice provides a warm blanket for your soul in such solo tracks as "Euphoria" and "My Time."

His vocal line brothers include Jimin, Jin and V and when they come together for "00:00 (Zero O'Clock)" prepare for your soul to be inundated with warmth as their combined talents assure you that everything will be okay. When the clock hits Zero O'Clock, you're gonna be happy. During this time, an assurance such as that is undeniably needed.

We conclude the playlist with "We are Bulletproof: the Eternal" which is essentially a love letter BTS has written for the BTS ARMY. It's truly a proper summation of just how much the Boys appreciate the success they've rightfully earned after years of brutally hard work. When they say "We were only seven... But we have you all now" and proceed to shower the millions upon millions of loyal fans with unabashed love, you feel it through to the depths of your being and just like with everything BTS does, it hits hard.

As we continue to plow through this unprecedented time, remember to turn to the things that make you happy. If this playlist has brought you even the sliverest sliver of joy, my work here is done.
