Paranormal instrumentals can evoke all kinds of feelings, from fear to anticipation and, in some cases, even the feeling that something magical is about to happen. The instrumentals below contain a variety of sounds that can create a range of emotions depending on which song you listen to.

Cursed House

Artist: The Fallen Crow

"Cursed House" by The Fallen Crow makes you feel like you are surrounded by a turbulent storm and that something bad is about to happen. The haunting melody gives a feeling of imminent danger with its synthesized sounds.

Halloween Theme

Artist: John Carpenter

Not only did John Carpenter direct the cult classic horror file Halloween, due to a low budget, he also stepped in as a composer to write the movie's theme song which is eerily a blend of piano music and synthesizers.

Stranger Things Theme

Artist: Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein

A supernatural thriller, Stranger Things has been one of Netflix's most popular shows. The theme song gives off a bit of a nostalgic vibe with its synthesized sounds, but the creep factor really enters in with the sound of a heartbeat playing throughout the instrumental.

Welcome to the Graveyard

Artist: The Midnight Ghost

If you can imagine the background music of being in a creepy graveyard late at night, then you'll resonate with The Midnight Ghost's "Welcome to the Graveyard." The music creates a very sinister and menacing sound.

Grim Grinning Ghosts

Artist: The Orchid Enterprises

While the upbeat version of "Grim Grinning Ghosts" has lyrics and is performed by the Phantom Five on Disney's Haunted Mansion ride, the instrumental version is quite the opposite, having a disturbing sound. The song starts with the ticking of a clock, which makes you feel that your time is running out, then proceeds to turn into a slow, disturbing melody.

The Twilight Zone

Artist: Marty Manning

Playing four of the most iconic notes in theme song history, "The Twilight Zone" theme song evokes the feeling of being in a nightmare in which you can't awake. The unsettling music encompasses strings and woodwinds and makes you feel rushed and panicky. The percussion adds to the tension of this tune that seems to be coming from outer space.

Dracula

Artist: John Williams

John Williams' theme song from Dracula starts out powerful and doesn't let up. It's dark and menacing, and the instrumental sound is full. The sound is quite frenzied at times, setting the mood that something ominous is about to happen.

Haunted Nursery

Artist: Midnight Syndicate

After beginning with the sound of a heartbeat, "Haunted Nursery" then shifts to the sound of a music box which is slowly winding down as if your time is limited.

Haunted Heart

Artist: Nox Arcana

Creating an atmosphere of apprehension, Nox Arcana's "Haunted Heart" is dark and foreboding. The music has a strange beauty to it while giving off a gothic feel with its instrumentation.

Tubular Bells

Artist: Mike Oldfield

Any diehard horror fan will recognize "Tubular Bells" from the classic horror film The Exorcist. Featuring eerie bell sounds, the instrumentation also utilizes a variety of other instruments, including keyboards. This harrowing tune won Mike Oldfield a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Composition.

X Files Theme Song

Artist: Mike Snow

From one of the most iconic sci-fi series in television history, the "X-Files Theme Song" creates an eerie and mysterious environment, particularly through its synthesizer sounds, not to mention the whistling sound that takes place.
