What are the measures you take for self-care? Do you have the habit of reading, or do you practice some yoga or just a good long shower/bubble bath works well? If all of these sound just perfect for you, then here are some great playlists that will complement your de-stress sessions.

This relaxing set of tunes help me bounce back after a hectic week, ready to take on a crucial one. The right soundtracks set the tone for your workouts or can make or break your dedicated chill-out session. I explore a variety of options ranging from the European go-to’s like Enya to the Native American albums along with the New Age music. Most of my choices have a heavy influence on nature or have a touch of traditional instruments.

Spa

Let me start with one of the classic chill-out albums, Spa. It is a collection of over 12 songs with each song approximately 4 minutes long. Although Spa was released way back in 2004, it definitely stands the test of the time.

Roger Saint-Denis’s piano performance is exquisite. However, there are other classical instruments like cello and the flute joining the composition from time to time. I love to have it running in the background during a spa session or a long massage. Many massage practitioners claim to have use “Spa” music while treating their clients. Additionally, it is a perfect background score to enjoy while having a family dinner too.

Desert Spa

When I feel like hearing a lot more from the New Age music, I automatically turn towards Desert Spa. These sounds are inspired by the landscapes of Arizona and New Mexico. In this album, you can come across birdsong, Andean flutes, and gentle rain. The music takes me through the dreamscapes of meadows, oceans, and not only helps me to relax but also to sleep well. I love the composition because it is not synthesizer-based but made out of actual instruments.

It is a favorite during a massage session. While the album may seem short with only 9 songs, but four of them are eleven minutes or more keeping it long enough. However, the album gives you a good stretch of time to zone out and move into a meditative state.

Spa Dreams

The album Spa Dreams is the work of Dean Evenson. He is the pioneer in the field of sound healing. Evenson has specifically composed the songs in this album for spa and massage practitioners. The album is for those performing the healing arts. Furthermore, he is at this work for more than a span of 30 years. Spa Dreams comes as the third part of the Healing Spa series and it is truly one of the best. I totally love the serene and harmonious sounds of the flute, harp, and keyboard. Furthermore, they all intertwine with each other in a complex yet calm way. The album offers more than an hour of chilled-out music.

I particularly love the tracks because they don’t have any beat to them. This helps me to enjoy during a powerful session of yoga and tai chi.

Spirit Spa

Let me introduce you to a spiritual album with 14 desert and nature-inspired tracks, Spirit Spa. David R Maracle’s mastermind is an instant stress reliever that soothes listeners for many years now. This album is a must in my playlist after I have a super-long day. Additionally, the Native-American-inspired flutes are a perfect background for my bubble bath session. Furthermore, I would suggest you try it out in your bathtub, during a massage session, nursing, or even during birthing. A listener even writes that it helped her through an MRI procedure as she was struggling with claustrophobia.

This album also helps me through meditation and sleep clearing away my mind. The songs run between 4 to 6 minutes, long enough to help you drift through the flow.

An Open Sky

On really stressful days, only a calm bath time doesn’t help. An Open Sky - Soothing Guitar and Cello Music for Relaxation, Meditation, and Well-Being is a perfect fit to help shrug off the stress. Ryan Judd is the name of the genius behind the album. He is not just a brilliant musician, but also has the right set of qualifications to plead his case.

Ryan Judd has a board certification for music therapy. Additionally, he owns a master's degree in psychology and works out the perfect strategy to create music that relaxes you. The label promises, “You'll feel peace and calm wash over you as tension and stress drain away.”

Native American Flutes and Sounds of Nature

This album takes on the peaceful sounds of nature with 22 tracks. These soundtracks like “Thunder on a Warm Summer Evening” and “Coolness—The Sound of the Wind as It Leaves the Sky,” take true inspiration from Mother Nature. The songs project the sounds of the earth through the Native American Flutes that create a calming soundtrack for the end of a long tiring day.

I love the CD for different purposes for the background of my massages, spa, meditation, or even sleep. The album runs for about an hour and 20 minutes, perfect to unwind as I sink into my bathtub of bubbles.
