That’s the Way It Is

This album came out in 1970 and included eight studio tracks and four live-in-concert tracks recorded at The International Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. This album is not considered a soundtrack album but it did accompany the theatrical release of the documentary “Elvis: That’s the Way It Is”. In 1973 it was certified Gold and in 2008 Platinum by the RIAA.

The singles released from this album were “I’ve Lost You”, “You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me”, and “I Just Can’t Help Believin’”.

Elvis Now

The album Elvis Now was released in 1972. It included only one single “Until It’s Time for You to Go”/”We Can Make the Morning”. The album was certified Gold in 1992 by the RIAA.

Good Times

This album was released in 1974 with two singles which both became hits “I’ve Got a Thing About You Baby” and “My Boy” which was at number one on the Adult Contemporary chart. Other songs were covers like “She Wears My Ring” and “Spanish Eyes”.

Promised Land

The album Promised Land was released in 1975 on Elvis’ 40th birthday. The singles released were the title track and “If You Talk in Your Sleep” which was used for the 1997 movie “Men In Black”.

Today

This album came out the same year 1975 featuring pop and country music. It included a new rock and roll song “T-R-O-U-B-L-E” which was released as a single. It included cover songs by various artists. Other singles released were “Bringing It Back” and “Green Green Grass of Home.”

From Elvis Presley Boulevard, Memphis, Tennessee

The album came out in 1976 and was Elvis’ fourth album to make it to number one on the Billboard Country Music Album chart. The single “Hurt” became a Top 10 Hit on both the Country and Adult Contemporary charts.

Welcome to My World

The album Welcome to My World is a compilation album that was released in 1977 just five months before Elvis died. It was certified Gold in 1977 and Platinum in 1983 by the RIAA. It included such songs as the title track, “Help Me Make It Through the Night”, “For the Good Times”, and “Make the World Go Away” among others.

Moody Blue

This was the final album released by Elvis in July 1977. This album came out four weeks before the death of Elvis. It included the hit title track, “She Thinks I Still Care”, and “Way Down”. The album was certified Gold and Platinum the same year and Double Platinum in 1992 by the RIAA.

Even though, Elvis has “left the building” as they used to say after his concerts. Through his music and many films, he’ll never be forgotten. Always new generations will be able to enjoy the King of Rock and Roll. You can travel the world and see his statues in many different places:

On Beale Street, you can see an iconic Elvis statue in Memphis, Tennessee

You can see a statue in front of the Las Vegas Hilton in Las Vegas, Nevada

An Elvis statue stands in front of the Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport, Louisiana, which is the home of the famous Louisiana Hayride.

There is a large statue at the entrance of the Elvis American Diner in Neve Ilan, Israel just outside of Jerusalem.

At the Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii you can see a life-sized 1100-pound bronze sculpture of Elvis. The plaque reads Elvis Aloha From Hawaii, the World’s first satellite TV concert, Jan 14th, 1973
