Theresa Wright, known as Cookie The Comedian, is the creative engine and lifeblood behind “Bad Decisions Through My Visions.” She is a comedian and event host and has taken on the titles of executive producer, writer, creator, camerawoman, and star through the project’s creative lifetime.

About “Bad Decisions”

Born of Cookie’s life experiences and self-proclaimed “bad decisions,” the series began in 2019 when Cookie started writing about her life as a way of coping and working through her experiences. She explains, “This is how I viewed life when my world crumbled around me. [Writing] This was my way of releasing all the pain and anger from decisions I made.”

Originally intended for a biopic about her life as a comedian, Cookie recently pivoted. This current format is fitting for the “Bad Decisions Through My Visions” content. She shares, “I began writing ‘Bad Decisions Through My Visions’ in 2019. It started as a movie about me and my life as a comedian. Then, it turned into a documentary. Finally, I thought about a web series and how it would better cover my story. I started the preparation in March 2023.”

Now, Cookie’s years of hard work are coming to fruition. With a target release date to the public of Spring 2024, it’s about to get real.

The “Bad Decisions Through My Visions” Premiere

To celebrate her years of hard work coming to life, Cookie hosted the “Bad Decisions Through My Visions” Web Series Premiere party on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Eastwood Manor in the Bronx. The celebration was a soft launch of the series and rightfully lined up with the creative’s birthday, making every moment of this event joyous and entertaining.

At the sold-out event, guests enjoyed an open bar, a full dinner, dancing, music, and more. To kick off the night, stars from the web series walked the red carpet with much applause and a room laden with press and media personnel.

The major highlight of the night, aside from a few surprise cake smashes, was the screening of the beginning of the web series. In the first episode, the audience meets the main characters, gets introduced to the series and what it’s about, and sees the stage set for all the drama and comedy poised to pop off throughout the first season. There were outbursts and laughter throughout the room during the screening, and you’ll do the same.

Harlem shines in this series. Those who tune into the series upon its official launch will notice Harlem landmarks featured in recording locations. Viewers will see characters from Harlem that they think they know but don’t truly know. Cookie has also revealed that surprise underground artists will have walk-on roles throughout the series, and their music will be featured as well. Black-owned businesses also take center stage with shooting locations like 2 Sisters 4 Brothers Restaurant & Lounge on the east side of Harlem and RSL Dream Restaurant and Lounge in the Bronx. BDTMV shines a light on Harlem with costuming and styling from rising local clothing designers, Young Nation, and Paper Over Pain.
