Am I lost or just afraid?

Singing softly so I don't wake up the neighbors!!!

Verse 1

I know you don’t think about me now,

And this heart hurts so much, but I can’t allow.

How does this heal, when I don’t know

How to say goodbye, how to let go?

The memories are fading, but my body still feels,

Every touch, every kiss, that needs to be held.

A sharp pain of a sick heart with no escape to heal.

You are my health robber and continue to steal,

Please make it stop; this could not be real.

This feels so stupid, but the pain remains,

Like a ball that hits me, again and again.

Chorus

Please wake me up, from this nightmare,

Coming in my dreams, how do you dare?

A plug I can’t pull, clutching at my chest.

This wreck needs to find its rest.

I convinced myself to forget you,

After all these years, I’m not through.

But when I’m sad, I still want you near.

It’s a fact, and that makes me fear.

It’s so strong, it’s so deep,

You are the reason ruining my sleep.

We both moved on, married someone new,

It’s my heart’s fault and should be sued.

Verse 2

This life’s quietness feels like a roar,

But this heartbeat lives for more.

I wonder, am I lost or just afraid?

Chasing memories that time has made.

You’re out there living, and I’m stuck here,

Caught in the past, holding onto fear.

How do you move on when the soul won’t let go,

When the love still burns, but you’re not in control?

I hear myself yelling in a whisper,

a plague causing a huge blister.

That is not fair; this is a long period of despair.

I am still here, gasping for air.

The sad part is that we never said goodbye,

Knew the reason or explained why.

And that hit so rough till this day,

We never found a way, or was it just a play?

Chorus

Please wake me up, from this nightmare,

A plug I can’t pull, I’m gasping for air.

I thought I’d forget you, after all these years,

But when I’m sad, I still want you near.

It’s so strong, it’s so deep,

I’m sorry, but this is how I feel.

We both moved on, married someone new,

But this feeling? It’s not through.

Please tell me I’m wrong,

Please tell me I’m not alone.

I’m dreaming of what’s gone,

Tell me I’m not the only one.

Bridge

What’s wrong with me? I don’t even know,

How do I forget, when my heart won’t let go?

I’m lost in this silence, caught in between,

A love that’s gone, but it still feels like a dream.

A dream that was never meant to be,

You are so far, and I can't see.

The lingering love is dragging me down,

I’m in an eternal lockdown.

Caught all alone from what is long gone,

From a love that I do not own.

Chorus

Please wake me up, from this nightmare,

A plug I can’t pull, I’m gasping for air.

I thought I’d forget you, after all these years,

But when I’m sad, I still want you near.

It’s so strong, it’s so deep,

I’m sorry, but this is how I feel.

We both moved on, married someone new,

But this feeling? It’s not through.

Please tell me I’m wrong,

Please tell me I’m not alone.

I’m dreaming of what’s gone,

Tell me I’m not the only one.

Outro

This life feels silent, and so unsure,

Inside me, everything seems so pure.

Maybe I am the only one,

Still holding on to what’s undone.
